I never quite put it together that both Eggleston and Winogrand made pictures with tricycles on driveways. Maybe there are others. Perhaps a themed exhibition could be put on.

Eggleston:

Can someone be riding the tricycle on the driveway? If so, this shot by Bill Owens fits the theme...

A real Leica user knows that by the very fact that they are using Leica, every single shot is a masterpiece in timing and composition.
It's why real Leica users know they only need to take one shot, and then move on with the satisfaction of knowing job well done.
Any that feel insecure that they need to take multiple shots of the same subject in the hopes of getting one shot, well, perhaps a nice Nikon with motordrive would be more suitable...
We don't dance around flailing away. We stay planted, of steely eye and firm of hand. And capture the moment. Click.

Stand up and take a bow. Real photographers catch the decisive moment and know that they got it right in one. Just like I do. The rest are just posers.

Once again: expressive moment! You'll turn me into a curmudgeon if you keep this up.

This thread just took a major turn for the better...

Dammit, now I'm always going to be looking out for trikes or big wheels, and forever disappointed I don't see any. Entirely because now I want to catch a quality image to add here.

HCB's books in English talk about the Decisive Moment which has worked with English speakers and others for decades. Besides those of us who consistently get the Decisive Moment in one photograph know what we are doing, unlike those the spray photographs like they were using an attached appendage.

That's the argument of tradition. I prefer to fight tradition; that's why I run Linux and not Windoz Windows. 🙂
Anyway, in my street-shooting, I'm good at capturing the indecisive moment. At 4 fps, I'd catch many indecisive moments.

No prancing around. No wasting of film. One shot. Done.

Leica M3, Summicron 50 DS.

Wonderful! And you demonstrated that good photographers do not need to machine gun.

Some people like a cheap all you can eat buffet. Others appreciate a quality meal.

As i said: One Quality meal is not enough for me. I take at least 3.

Perhaps it would be cy possible to have a Tricycle-themed exhibition, but we'd need a good name: How about, The New Triographics?
