Actually I do doubt that people can get Leica (in any form and shape) for $5.
That sounds like a challenge worthy of a new WTB thread here on Photrio!

I think I will have to sell my K1000 (which I bought for $10) and the ME which I got for free. Don't have a spotmatic but have an S3.
These are my favorite eBay buys...-- They place something in the wrong category or spelled wrong -- so no SEARCH can find it -- I got an 800mm for pennies because it was listed as a mm lens.
I once bought an item that was described as a "Plus-X Camera" for $25

That probably depends on what the word "pro" means. To me, it means someone who does professional work. Commercial photographers, who work for clients, certainly do use digital.
I not only looked at the listing prices on eBay, I looked at the completed listings too. Yikes!
That F5 is a better value, and well worth the asking price. A pro film camera is sealed better for climate changes, and would be much more reliable over time. Better engineering, better build quality. I want one. It would be nice to buy it and not worry about it breaking. Plus, that thing can take fire off lots of perfectly exposed shots in no time. Very handy for sports, horse races or portraits.

I suppose not, but $10- that's a different story.

Want to Buy - Wanted $10 Leica rangefinder for personal use. CL Found.
I am looking for a working Leica Barnack or, film 'M' that you'd rather see being used by me, on a regular basics, than sitting in the closet, gathering dust. I am looking about for a functioning 'user', warts and all, no a collectable or valuable collectors piece (yes, I know they are all of...www.photrio.com

(Tapped Post Reply in error). Meter works, but will have grandson use exposure table or calculator so that he understands relationship between size of hole in lens and time that hole stays open. My friend, the late Bernie Boston - dean of WH photographers, told me of a lady photographer for major news outlet that was unable to shoot story because batteries died in her automatic camera and she couldn’t use manual because she had no idea of f stop/shutter speed relationship. Bernie set camera for her.
Which Leica did he get? He asked for it I didn't think he get it.
He got it. A Leica CL.

For $10? Wow!

it pays to shop around.... people are still complaining about how expensive film is because they shop on Amazon where some sellers are asking $20 for one roll of Fuji 200..
I hope he's happy with that Minolta.
