I just want to ask how you store your ULF negatives. I am particularly interested in hearing from those who use 7x17, 8x20, and 12x20. Just simply because they are not conventional sizes any more.

I am in the middle of figuring the logistic out for my 7x17 endeavor. Any suggestions are welcome.

Warmly,
tsuyoshi

The View Camera Store was supposed to offer sleaves for 7x17 but when I asked they had a minimum order that was just too much for me. Now all my negatives get masked to a sheet of 16x20 opaque paper so they go in 16x20 sleaves from Light Impressions.

For 8x20 negatives, I use a 20x24 print bag from Light Impressions. It opens on the 20 length so I cut the top off leaving about 9 inches of the bag, which has three side sealed. I cut the remaining top section down to insert into what's left of the bag creating two "pockets" one for a proof sheet on the one side and the negative on the other side. After that I file them into a card board box that fits the length and height, it was one that shipped something into here. Since the box is not archival, it is lined with mat board.

For 7 x 17 I use the 16 x 20 paper folders from Superior Archival Materials. Cut in half I have one folder, and two leaves to tape (tyvek) together for another. They are not cheap, but I think they are worth it.
