It was stated firsty 1998 : A simple 135 film should have the eqivalent more than 20MP in comparison to digital.
The idea behind this article is the following :
If you are bored from digital - throw away your digital camera.
And learn to make photographs.

PS : I remember a young lady in a potrait studio. She was a real expert of her profession. The studio had a "nice price week".
She had an extreme routine with her digital equipment. It began with the lighting (allways the same lighting for the whole "nice price week" - perhaps for the whole year?) it ended with her look on the display of her digital megapixel monster.
I guess it was a strong short look wich lasted not more than 1/8 sec.
So she was both : bussy AND fast.
She could have been more fast if she did not look to every single shot on her display. A routined, controled workflow

1) with meter on top
2) with meter built-in plus bright-frame feature

This is the second version.

Lens is a 2.8 50mm Tessar or Trioplan

I also hate the term "analogue photography"! I'd rather it was called "chemical photography" (which would encompass film, glass plates, cyanotypes, paper etc etc).

Yes, and a statement to the effect "For people who want even more detail in their photos there are large format film cameras that can match even top-of-the-range digital models" is absolute nonsense & spoils the article. How many megapixel equivalent In a large format picture? 800 supposedly. Dump over £30K on medium format digital to see only 400 or so. Megapixels aren't everything but LF takes some beating for quality.

Very true. An “analog photographer” would be someone who doesn’t take photos of the things they want to photograph, but rather photograph things with many similarities to the things they wanted to photograph. So while a normal photographer may do portraits of people, an analog photographer might take photographs of chimpanzees dressed like those people.

Yes, that is a good description.
May I add that an exoskeleton doesn't make you a cyborg, you are still an analogue photographer.

It is indeed quite interesting.Never heard about Altix cameras before.It is one of some dozent manufacturers with great history before WWII and some years after it.

The manufacturer was Altissa, it got part of the Pentacon concern and finally had to cancel all own models. The Nb was their latest model, already produced under the wings of the concern.

Many wine about that concentration. I see it as only way to face what was coming up from Japan, though it failed nevertheless.

I am also not a fan of the "analogue photography" term, and I refuse to use it. Although perhaps not quite as descriptive, the term "traditional photography" is more to my liking than "analogue photography". "Chemical photography" is good too, but may be confusing to many non-photographers.

Why not film photography? I know there are processes like paper negatives that don't require film, but in the vast majority of cases when people say analog photography they are talking about film.

Same as in the audio sense, analogue is a continuous variable physically recorded in real time, as opposed to digital, translated and certain bits being recorded after the fact.
Still rather just call of film photography, or just photography though..

Same problem I had at the beginning as digital came. Over some decades the term camera has to say a camera is meant. Then digital was introduced and one spoke about digital cameras. No problem.
But suddenly the term analogue camera came - "what spell again" ? A N A L O G U E camera " what is meant "?????
Horrible there was no single analogue camera on this planet for more than 150 years and suddenly most people state : Ahh.... an analogue camera !
I did not use this term I use conventional camera since then. Because the term FILM CAMERA is mostly used to Movie Film Camera (what I often noticed) - so it is possible a mixing.
And photography is photography. Digital enlargement - conventional enlarging via otical system - thats my kind of using words.

Before digital there was no non analogue form of recording data. Once it was here, that became the differentiating term between the recording methods.
Again, more familiar with audio methods. But I think it translates to photography in some ways.
