hi brian

i thought i was the only one who measured in cubits .
i still use chains and links too,
and my car gets 40 rods to the hogshead

I like sugar cubits.

You own a cubit ruler?

Also, you guys are fun and make me want to learn stuff

I had a car that was so bad, it got 20 miles to the gallon- of oil.

Funny how in the USA it is Miles per Gallon
You would expect in Europe it would be Kilometers per Liter
But NO they have to be different in every way
They are Liters per 100 Kilometers!

For the USA a bigger number is better
For them a smaller number is better

It's actually worse then it appears. Never mind film sizes. You also have to match paper, and TV sizes. Nothing matches. Papers are in 3 1/2 x 5 , 4x6 which is good for DSL SLR, but it doesn't fit my 3:4 monitor screen or 9:16 HDTV. How about 8 1/2 x 11" paper? What do you do with that? So now you have digital cameras where you can select the format: 2:3, 4:3, 1:1, 9:16.

They should also add paper sizes like: 8x10, 5x7, 4x6, etc so you won't have to crop to print. Is any camera manufacturer doing that?

I was *born* with a cubit ruler.

It's just become more accurate as I aged.

I can't tell if this is a sexual reference to your "member" or if you mean something else and I just don't get it, since I don't know what a cubit is... Lol

If only I could claim that *it* was a cubit long, I'd be the star of CraigsList.

A cubit is/was (biblically) the length of an adult male's forearm.

The standard(ish) equivilant is somewhere in the range of 18-22 inches, depending on which source you look at.

As I said, more or less, I was born with a male forearm . . . .

Which member? There are almost 65,000 members here!

Haha, nice, I think there's only one man who was born with a cubit member, his name was something Falcon, I saw some special on him, a cubit long and .4 cubits in diameter... Yep... Ouch... Haha or OH! Depending on what you like I suppose haha.

I wonder if they used cubic cubits... That would mean they decided to take a cubit and cube it.

If you had a cucumber 18-22 inches long, that would be a cubit of cucurbit...

I hope you were born with two. It's more handy that way.

Speak fer yerself there, Stone!

I'm not sure what you mean, I'm a man, not a girl, and I am straight, so I don't have an opinion on what I would want in a male partners "cubit".

I'm happy with my own and all i can say is it's smaller than the Falcon guys...

Googled it. His name's Jonah Falcon.

With a bird like that, no wonder he's called Falcon!

I couldn't believe it when I saw that Falcon thing!

He doesn't have to go to great lengths to impress people, but he just can't help it!

He gets tired of all the attention. Sometimes he just wants to hang out.

He'd certainly have an advantage as a puppeteer!

Horses welcome him as one of their own. So do elephants.

Scientists estimate that someone like him appears only once every every 1000 years. Which makes him the Millenium Falcon. The problem is, most women are so frightened of it that he's also Hand Solo.

Oi!

You're a "punny" guy...

Jonah Falcon is no "Standard Size" hehe

a 6x12 wouldn't even work... 6x17 maybe haha

OK back on TOPIC!!!!

I blame greedy film people and framers for not standardizing and just making new sizes so you had to buy their product... mostly I blame Kodak for that though, they pretty much ONLY make products just to make you buy only their stuff... used to work, doesn't anymore... sad...

I wish it were all in metric sizes personally...

You will be glad to know that everything is metric sized. You are telling us you don't have any 12.7mm wrenches or 203.2 x 254mm film holders.... My 12.7mm wrenches that I purchased to service my Omega enlargers have a curious "1" and a slash and a "2" on them...I wonder what that is all about, first wrench in a set of two??
