Could it have been the digital Rollieflex TLR that was released a few years back? I loved my Rollieflex 3,5F, I am sorry I sold it.

That one would be more than 10years old, would have only 3MP and would fit into ones hand. It was called "Mini".

My peers, ie other professionals in the hundreds.

Ok, but isn't that down from over a hundred thousand? I wouldn't be that surprised nor would many people on this site if hundreds of pros still shoot film, considering that there are roughly 150,000 pro photographers in the US. That's a drop in the bucket compared to what it was.

Luckily we can enjoy it as a stable niche market. Its was fun seeing the guy hustling through the throng of regular photographers with that big grin on his face winding his film.

What is it that you are asking me then, how I arrive at my viewpoint of more pros than an enthusiast forum might think are using film or how many pros in broad terms use film?

I never claimed to know the latter, I just know I see an increase in the former and it is a good thing and not a surprising thing to me since I have a lot more access to this than most on this forum do.

I guess I was just asking you to surprise us, since you said we'd be surprised to know how many pros use film. Hundreds isn't that surprising, but really this is not that important so lets just be glad for anyone that is using it.

A few years ago the new owners of Hasselblad did a poll hoping to push digital cameras and backs. The poll showed that most professional photographers at that time preferred film for their personal use. Hasselblad went looking for a different way to ask questions on their polls.

So Hasselblad owners aren't as crazy as I thought...

Power to the hardcore film pros!!

One does not need to be crazy to buy Hasselblads, but that would help spending the money.
