This is a Soligor Spot Sensor II analog light meter. Before everything was good. Someone had it for a couple of days and reported that he can't see the meter needle.
When I light a flashlight, I see the needle is parked at the far right, the level beyond the highest level. And the needle does not move when powered on. How can this be? I do not know if this meter is broken, or used inappropriately. But even with a strong flashlight going into the meter, the light level is still not strong enough to go all the way to the right. Would a wrongly inserted battery make this happen?
Since this is an analog meter, I suspect the signal circuit loop is broken; burned motor; or the needle stuck somewhere. So far very likely the motor is burned. By what and how?
