8x10 is considered 'small' now? I thought by "small" you were going for "below 5x7".

I'm thinking I'll print small on 8x10 with 1 1/2 to 2 inch borders. So it will be a small print on big paper with nice borders to simulate a mat.

Dear all,

Just coming back from holidays, I'm afraid I won't be able to go to the darkroom sooner than next week. Please excuse this delay!

Best regards,
Sandra

Sandra, there is no rush, I've just printed mine and will be getting them ready for mail over the weekend, then I'll have to go to the post office, which will be Wednesday.

Besides, you are getting over your holiday and back to reality, are you not?

Mick.

Thank you, Mick

Yes indeed, sometimes it feels like one half of me is still there (and the other half wants to go there again).

I always find these too late, darn it! I have a group of four prints about 5x7 on 8x10 paper already finished. I need to browse the forum more regularly!

Two prints ready for posting way out west. Haven't heard from Joe O'Brien yet so will have to put one on ice until I do.

This sounds like some of the early print exchanges I participated in... simple and easy for people to participate in. Hopefully I'll see Round 2 advertised and be able to sign up.

I like printing 35mm negs at about 6x9 on a 8x10 bit of paper.

Cheers, Nige

And your print arrived on my door step Saturday the 30th in perfect condition. I must say the print is absolutely beautiful. The toning is just right for the subject, must try that combo on myself.

My prints are made, I need to flatten them and hopefully can send them within the next 2 or 3 days. In the meantime, I received a print from Mike Wilde, a photo of a gigantic ship, together with a looong explanation with I enjoyed reading a lot. Thank you so much, Mike.

I have received your print today. It's absolutely beautiful. On a "spouse" scale it's absolute success. My wife asked me to frame it and hang it in our guest bathroom. I rarely get such a privilege with my prints :D

Praise indeed - Does that now mean I can claim my work is now "hanging in private collections in the USA" ?

[side note] Last print is in the mail to Joe. Hope it arrives as quickly.

Unquestionably! "Hanging in private collections in the USA along with works of other distinguished photographers" Let's not divulge what distinguished means in this case

"No Fishing" arrived here safe and sound. Brings back memories of a trip to the hilly bits in California a few years back with all the snow.

Hello all,

as for the postcard exchange, I have to apologize for being late in sending my prints, and for my lazyness on commenting the prints I received...

In the past weeks, I received :

A very nice close up of chairs by Rüdiger. The composition is very nice, and so is the print.

Marius Hauge's skyscape. Very dark print, which put all the interest on the sun (moon ?) and the clouds around it, and makes me try to guess what the landscpae looks like... Well done !

TJ's three prints.
The two butterflies on a wall paper show very nice textures.
The portrait of Justin at 2 is absolutely lovely. The eye contact is very strong, and the print very well done.
The third one os a view of a beach and rocks, with very transparent water. Lots of details and textures, which I like a lot !

Thanks to you three.

I think I have decided what negatives I'll print, and hope I'll be able to print them this week.

Cheers !

I have finally got all my prints done and into the hands of Canada Post.

Sorry to all in my group (Group 1) for the delay.

I note that each of my fellow group members have posted indicating that their prints are done. I received a print from Mike - thanks Mike for the excellent print and detailed description - as of yet I haven't received prints yet from Sandra, Heiko or Mick.

Should I be worried?
