hi
I am posting this as a follow up to my recent post about WTMG paper stain. Simon answered my post and said if I still had problem to let him know. I remade all my chem's and still had a problem so I email Simon. Simon replayed first thing Mon am asked a few question and as i had not kept the cardboard package i could not give him a lot number. NO PROBLEM Simon and Ilford are sending me a new box even tho I might have caused the paper problem no question's period they are just assuming it a defect. Now that CUSTOMER SERVICE at it's best.
Thank you Simon and Ilford

And let us not forget how our dear Mr. Galley and Ilford are selfless about providing budding darkroom enthusiasts with the Ilford Multigrade Printing Manual. It is a beautiful publication, well-written and a great springboard to better technique.

I had a very similar experience with a pack of WTMG myself, and received equally good customer service. Ilford has a dedicated customer in me, I recommend their products to all the students in the darkroom I work at.

I know that it sounds silly, but I really wish Kodak would follow suit. PE does an amazing job substituting, but I think Kodak has a fair bit to learn from Ilford in this regard. It may not result in big bucks right away, but long term it's probably a good idea to be on touch with ordinary people in the market.

+1 for Ilford. Great company, great service. I only use ilford papers now and will continue to and recommend it as well, stories like this make me happy that customer service still means something nowadays.

As a new returner to analog after a 20-year absence, I've recently had to decide which film, chemicals and papers to start with. After careful consideration, and despite the presence of some strong products from other manufacturers, I finally decided to go with all Ilford products (Delta 100, ID-11, Miltigrade IV RC paper). Part of this was the good service I received from their South African representative Midsouth, but a major consideration was my level of comfort with their committment to film, their ability to operate sustainably in a low volume market, and their active presence on APUG.
