Does anyone know what is happening with their deliveries from the Kickstarter / Indygogo campaign? I have participated a while back and from what I remember they have meant to start shipping In April / May time, but I've never received my 10 rolls that I've ordered. Has anyone got their rolls yet? Cheers

From the updates I've gotten, they are still working through the fulfillment for the "Pan" series films they had as one of the hallmarks of the Indiegogo campaign, having hit an issue with the supplier of the film stock. I'll have to dig through my emails for the specifics, but it was addressed a couple of weeks ago.

I was admittedly leery about ordering the Ortho/Orta film as I awaited my fulfillment from the Indiegogo campaign as well, but decided to try a small order from the shop and it arrived pretty quickly. It made for a great choice among my films for a Gettysburg trip yesterday, and I look forward to more of it coming into stock to order more rolls of the 50 speed Orta in particular.

Regarding new emulsion makers: I also make my own (in-house brand new) emulsion for dry plate production, so that's a third new emulsion-maker but of course I only coat dry plates and tintypes and not film. I'm also not anywhere near the volume as "the big guys" Ferrania and Adox

Cheers,

As far as we know there are no new emulsion makers behind Silberra films, but established manufacturers.

I actually hope for the day when you have a "Spool-o-Matic" 3D printer, a "Slit-o-Rama" backing paper slitter with a huge roll of 5" wide backing that can be slit to any width, and a generous supply of acetate to allow you to create the next generation of "normal" speed ortho emulsions for 116 - 130 rolls to fit any classic camera.

AgX,

Well noted on the likelihood of Silberra not being a new emulsion maker, though it seems they are tweaking to create some new emulsions using existing coating and finishing sources in Russia, and the products being more readily and widely available. Having spent a roll of Silberra Orta 50, I definitely look forward to acquiring more in the near future.

I sent them an email recently and in so many words got a "F--k you" I've since deleted it so I wasn't tempted to get hostile but the representative informed me that since the campaign didn't meet it's goal they are under no obligation to actually fill the orders and will only do it once they have turned a profit

As discussed on the Ferrania thread...."rewards" for crowd funding campaigns are not "orders" for products. They are under no obligation whatsoever to send you anything until and unless the crowd funding project is complete.
