My Sabs albums are standing by......now all I need is a bat....anyway if chicken doesn't float your boat then try a new silver emulsion or developer formula.

I feel partly responsible (a kinda big part) for the whole chicken thing.. it started as a joke to move the camera along in Round 4 and has continued on to the beginning of Round 5.

But I'll be honest, this whole thread and what it's developed into is one of the things that I love about this place.. the diversity of topics and people, their lives and their cultures, however different.. and in the end this is all meant to be just a bit of fun, no harm is meant to anyone (chickens aside that is).

I'm sorry if it's upset you George, it wasn't intended to irritate.

Síle

Sile,

Thank you for understanding.

I appreciated your joke at the time - found it quite amusing.

But any joke repeated and repeated and repeated gets initially stale and ultimately maddening.

BTW: I posted the link to the Pagan Chicken website on this thread a few days ago (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=pagan+chicken+recipes&btnG=Google+Search) - see post 44 here.

And then, what "pops up"? Yes, on the other thread the very first recipe of the very first link gets posted! Proving someone has good "clip and paste' skills".

That's when the joke starts to get really boring - what are we going to do, run through the list on the web link?

I very much look forward to receiving the camera and shooting a pic - but it won't be of a chicken, and I won't be posting my favorite pagan chicken recipe - I don't share that with anyone on the web! :D

it was supposed to be a chicken? Oops.

Remind me not to go to Semeuse's house for dinner any time soon... :surprised:

George.. I'm glad you're still taking part in the camera exchange, unfortunately for us the world will just have to learn to live without your chicken!

Tim.. any chance you made a video of your pagan chicken dance? Btw.. it sounds delicious (the chicken that is.. not that dance!)

Can someone please clarify for the rest of us the meaning and purpose of the whole chicken thing? Joke? Symbolism? Lighthearted attempt at something? I've tried to go over past posts to understand this, but to no avail. Was it supposed to be some kind of motivation to move the camera exchange along?

I'm not criticizing - just trying to understand. Thanks!

I'm new here and I get it. There's nothing to get and its purpose has been overanalyzed. It's just for fun. Post a pagan, christian, muslim, jewish, buddhist, chicken, beef, vegetarian, fish, pork, rattlesnake or pyro recipe or don't post a recipe at all. It all tastes like chicken.

Thanks, Rebeccammm - I also got a wonderful explanation PM'd to me from Sile. It just seemed so bizarre to me that I guess I missed the simplicity of it all. I'll play - as soon as I send the camera off, I'll email the most inexplicably awful recipe I can find :D

We have a bit of space at the end of the list. There have been two very worthy canidates asking to join. I will add them to the end of the list and send them the camera when (if?) it gets back to me. Others may join too in the future, but we will certainly cut it off at 25.

This is why we need more women here on APUG. Too many testosterone filled divas and drama queens.

Regards, Art.

Art.

You doth indeed describe yourself so well.

OH, BTW, my wife and I are so enjoying your comments on the various foto3 threads. Classic "Art" as we like to say!

Has the camera been "launched"?

It's always interesting to follow the progress.

I would use the baseball analogy of "Tinkers to Evers to Chance" but suspect that few would understand the reference.

Any long suffering and miserable Cubs fans on APUG?

I got the camera earlier this week. Hopefully I'll get my shot this weekend and send it on it's way.

By the way, I'm very familiar with Joe, Johnny and Frank

To those of use who "know" baseball history; "Tinkers to Evers to Chance" remains the greatest double-play combo.

Little did even they back then realize (1930's) that the Chicago Cubs team that won the World Series even further back in 1908 would be the last Chicago Cubs team to win the World Series until this very day.

But perhaps, with the centenary of their last great achievement now approaching - the Chicago Cubs will next year become the World Series Champions!

Or, perhaps not.....

George, you missed the part in my chicken recipe post where I announced the sailing of the camera. It is somewhere in Virginia I think, then will be heading north to your neighborhood. I sent it then over the big pond to Ireland,Wight, Brittany, and Norway. I suspect it will be back after the first rays of spring.

Tim Gray, the camera is on it's way to you. Now here's my chicken recipe...

White Bean Chicken Chili

1 Tablespoon olive oil
1 Small onion peel/chop fine
2 Medium garlic clove peeled/chopped
1 Medium red bell pepper chopped fine
2 Cans white beans, 15 ounces each undrained
4 Ounces green chiles canned/diced
1/2 Teaspoon ground cumin
1 Teaspoon chili powder
15 ounces chicken broth or chicken stock
1/2 Pound roasted chicken breast meat cut in 1/2 in. cubes
2 Tablespoons lime juice
2 Tablespoons cilantro minced
6 Tablespoons salsa optional

In a large pot heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and red pepper. Sauté 5 minutes. Stir the white beans, chiles, cumin, chili powder and broth. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer 10 minutes. Stir in the chicken and simmer 5 minutes. Stir in the lime juice and cilantro. A tablespoon of salsa can be used to garnish each serving of chili, if desired.

Thank you Travis. Seeing as I feel like warmed over toast, perhaps this would be a good dinner for tonight. Looks like comfort fude.

After taking my photo this weekend (I don't remember of what...), I kept forgetting to mail out the camera. Well, today I finally did. I'll try to come up with a pagan chicken recipe. I used to have a good curry chicken recipe, but I haven't eaten chicken in so long that I forget the chicken part of it... I'll try to remember though.

Pagan Chicken recipes don't have to have chicken in them.

Thanks,

We look forward to your contribution, if you remember what it is by the time it gets back here. *L*
