I know handguns are generally illegal in Europe, but don't people there ever do sport hunting?

In Belgium handguns are not illegal if you have a permit for them but it's a strict procedure (no criminal record, good behavior, passing a basic exam on weapon handling, etc.) and you have to enlist in a gun club and go shooting regularly. For hunting weapons you have to get an additional hunting permit and pass for an exam that proves you know when to hunt and on what to hunt. For working war related weapons (like stenguns, MP40's and the like) you need a special permit (hard to come by) and you may not posses any ammunition for those weapons. On the other hand, some older pre-1945 bold-action rifles are legal to own if you don't have ammunition for them.

But running around with a belt like that would probably stir up some commotions since the recent events in school murders and the like. I'm not shooting enough film anyway to justify a belt like that.

Whatever Fred came up with, it would be "the best damn" and "revolutionary"! I miss Fred, I'm an ex-student of his weeklong Vermont get-together. Fun fellow if you took him with both humor and respect. I know he was controversial (and he enjoyed that), but I learned a LOT from him.

The "looks" of gear can get one in trouble, one more "Tom story". Many years ago I was working for a good buddy as an assistant on a location photo job (museum store catalog) at a major Jewish organization. We drove into the underground parking and started to unpack (lots of stuff, back in the day of shoot 4x5 film for a catalog). Even in Los Angeles, major Jewish sites have security concerns. At some point while unpacking we realized there might be a problem. My friend loves a bargain and had bought most of his location cases at an Army/Navy surplus store.

We figured we would have to explain ourselves when we got off the elevator.

Apparently they had cameras in the underground parking. When the elevator doors opened we were met by about 10 VERY big security guys in a tight circle around the elevator door. I felt like I was facing the lineup of a football game!

I've got one, Fred said it was the best damm holster made, but that was then and that was Fred. I wonder what Fred would be inventing if he were alive today, maybe the best damm TSA holster around?

Now that is a great idea but how about using those amo belts you see Poncho Via wearing crossed over his cheast in the Good Bad n the Ugly loaded with 120 rolls instead of gatling gun amo? That should get a rise out of people when street shooting in NYC.

Would be even more impressive if you could belt-feed your camera with film.

Check this out...

How many rolls of film is he packing?

Pancho Villa

Thanks for posting the pic...but Pancho Villa was a historical figure, not a character in GB&U...that would be "Tuco", played brilliantly by Eli Wallach

Hey Blondie........

I was thinking next week we could cover gun cases for tripods. Let em rifle though one of those.

Some knitting machine users ship their machines in gun cases when they travel. They protect the machine from the gorilla baggage handlers.

I'm not using them, I think the idea got shot down.
