Schmincke Diaphoto: How to Use?

Hope somebody can help me understanding how to use Diaphoto set of dyes.

I am new at spotting (and printing for that matter...) and just bought the Diaphoto set of dyes from Fotoimpex. I also bought the Diaphoto Fixer and Reducer.

Unfortunately they have arrived with no instruction whatsoever, therefore I am a bit lost. I understand that the dyes might be diluted with water (maybe?) and then applied to the print (test print first, final print when you're sure what you are doing ).

What do I use the fixer for? And what about the reducer?

Please shed some light

Use a 0 or 00 fine brush. Dilute a drop of dye with ALOT of water. Apply the diluted dye very careful and layer per layer - test at scrap work print: at the moment that the spot becomes too dark there is no way back. It's a very tedious job.
I am not familiar with the reducer but maybe you can revert too dark spots. Might be interesting.

Hi, I got a look at the photoimpex catalog and i understand that the reducer is indeed ment to bleach back too dark spots and the fixer makes the dye water proof.

Resurrection of an old thread...
I bought these dyes but they do not sink into the paper and seem to stay on top adding a reflective glaze. Never had an issue with spotone
Anyone have any info??
