I develop my 4x5s -- primarily FP4 -- with Pyrocat-HD. Is there any consensus on how best to capture pyro staining when the negatives are scanned? If I scan them as a color negative I can manage the RGB balance, which I'm guessing would provide a way to best control the influence of staining. Isn't t the actual color of the stain dependent on several parameters (such as emulsion and base), and if so, would scanning the negative as a positive color slide yield useful information about the actual color and how to make the most of (or least of, depending on intent) the stain?
