Hello all,

Just found this place today and I have ato admit it looks fantastic. The site features look unique and I'm hoping the content and users are just as good.

I'm from Sydney in Australia and addicted to film. I started shooting last January with a 400D (some plastic thing) and bought a Canonet 19 with a bottom winder for kicks off eBay. The first roll I shot was enough to get me hooked and here I am about 15 cameras later shooting almost exclusively with film and just delving into MF with a pair of Yashica 124's and most recently (yesterday and still waiting for delivery) a Bronica SQ-Ai kit with 4 lenses and more backs and extras than I care to remember.

I've been looking for a decent analog community and this place looks like it just might be it. Hope to stick around and learn from everyone and maybe some day to repay the favour.

George

What's a GAS? How do you know I've got gas? Is there something I should know...

Hi George,
Welcome to the community. I just came home from Sydney on Sunday. I had to do some shooting at my stepson's wedding at Watson's Bay naval base. The weather was only 15 degrees warmer in Sydney than Geelong!!!

Make sure to bring some Fosters and put some steak on the BBQ

Welcome to APUG from another Sydney-sider. I think you are going to like it here. Lots of friendly and very knowledgable folks here. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
Regards,
Thanasis

Welcome to the fount of all analogue knowledge George, this site is a sanity-saver when you get to the head-banging-against-the-wall stage - so just ask and all will be revealed - just made the most originally stupid mistake in the darkroom ? no, no - no original mistakes here, some have made the same mistake 40 years ago and some of us made the very same mistake yesterday, so you're in very good company. If you were excited about 35mm just wait till you start printing those medium format negs - that'll get the pulse racing.
