Right so I think my camera is dead, it doesn't really like that battery either, dead after two rolls and that was with some drama (random shutter speeds, 0 on the aperture display showing up etc). Grumble grumble...yet again a medium format camera gives me grief, maybe I should just stick to 35mm. Let's see what the service people will say...

Hello hello. I understand that it's been a while. It looks we are in many ways in a the same boat and I was wondering if you still have that battery in London and would be interested in selling in to a fellow dead battery 6008i owner?

Sorry, all that stuff is gone now!

My problem with the charger is that it's simply a power supply. That may work with nicad and nimh, but it's dangerous with lithium ion batteries

I use an xtar charger to charge the 14500 cells - don't over discharge either, no protections

I'm using a 6008AF and as many others (!) have battery issues. Finding this thread and the older one where JWMster and IC-RACER described how to recell a battery with LiPo made me very happy. I did that today, following the excellent instructions they posted - thanks for doing that!! Here's that link https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/the-power-of-volts-and-milliamps.105128/

I did run into a couple of issues though. With the recelled battery the camera won't trip the shutter. Switching back to a NiCd lets the camera trip the shutter and everything. The two lenses I tried on the camera with the LiPo recelled battery now "reports" as having f/2.0 maximum aperture (they're f/3.5 and f/4 lenses in reality). I've tried resetting the camera but it didn't correct this problem. I have a third lens, which correctly reads as an f/2.8 lens.

Is there a chance that something got fried in the camera or the lens from the higher voltage of the LiPo battery? I'm using the Turnigy nano-tech 450mAh battery.

Any advise much appreciated!

I have the same problem. when i try to use power adapter which drain energy directly from wall-plug adapter I check voltage is only 9.6V but battery said full. but if I plug my battery ( lipo, nimh .. measured voltage around 11V) the camera still said battery is running out or charge. Then i discover that depend on the lense too, if i plug PQS or AF PQS on the issue can easily happen.
