R09/APH09 are made by Calbe and based on the original Rodinal formulary from before 1945.
We have been selling this product since 1992 as an alternative to Agfa´s Rodinal. Because many of our customers are hooked to it and because we can offer it at a slightly lower price than Rodinal/Adonal we continue to support and sell it.
However the majority of the consumers out there have been using Rodinal made by Agfa.

As we are bringing back all the other Agfa products under the ADOX brand we decided also to carry the whole chemistry line. So in the end it´s all back again under one brand.

Rodinal = ADONAL
Neutol WA = ADOTOL WA
Neutol NE = ADOTOL NE
MCP = MCP
MCC = MCC
APX 100 = ADOX PAN PROFFESSIONAL 100
APX 400 = ADOX PAN PROFFESSIONAL 400

This is why we actually carry two types of Rodinal at the present.

Whatever is the best for you is your decision. I can barely see diffeences in the results but I am sure there will be people out here who do ;-)

as far as I am informed this is not the case.
This should be the improoved Calbe version which we actually initiated to be produced so developing times could be taken over from Rodinal.
Foma has purchased R09 of Calbe ever since.

Old R09 needed to be diluted 1+20, 1+40 etc. We thought this is a handicap in selling it and proposed a new version with a stronger concentrate to match Rodinal times and dilutions.

This is why Foma calls the developer R09 "new".

But this is information based on my knowledge about the supply chain from 2008. I might be wrong because I have not checked on this lately.

Oh, I love the stuff. I'm a member of the Church! I just think the name change is silly, but trademarks being what they are...

Thank you for the response. You may not remember me, but I have some of your products: They are as follows:

CHS 25 Art in both 35mm and 120mm (5rolls each). I have yet to shoot the 120mm, but have had an itch lately to try it with my Pentax 645. I have shot a
couple of rolls of the 35mm and I must say that the results were pleasing
to they eye. I printed a couple of test prints from the rolls and they
have that retro feel that I was so desperately after.

I have the Adolux ATM 49, which is what I used to develop the Chs
25.

Also, I have 3 rolls off you CMS 20 along with the ADOTECH CMS 20 developer for
it (is the developer still made)? I can't wait to use this film, but do not know what the ideal situation for it is. Guess I will just have to experiment.

When will the ADOX 400 be available? Will it be the same as ADOX CHM 400? I have wanted some for a while now based on photos that I have seen on Flickr.

I am also interested in the ADOLUX ADX A+B. I plan on purchasing some soon. Can you elaborate more on it in depth?

Let me stop before I hijack the post any further? Sorry if I have, but I am excited about what ADOX is doing for we traditional photographers. Should I have started/start a separate post for my questions?

I have yet to shoot the 120mm,

For your information, 120 is the name of the film/spool combination; not a measurement. I'll be damned if I know what it actually means, but it is not millimeters.

Of course it is also 135 format, not 35mm, but habits are hard to break

...except in that case, 35mm is actually a close-to-accurate measurement of the width of the stock, so it is not all that potentially misinforming to use the term.

Just a minor nit to pick to slow the spread of such terminology. I don't intend to start a whole discussion over the matter in this thread.
