I’ve never seen this lens and not sure if anyone has any experience with it using on 8x10 format.

Would it work? See it’s rated as a 500 image circle.

I do not own this lens, but I do have the smaller 210mm version. If you want it for macro or close up it will work just fine. For infinity focus there are much more appropriate lenses in the 300mm focal length. But based on the 210mm version which almost covers 8x10 I suspect the 300mm version would cover. But the lens is designed for the range of 1/3 to 3x life sized. It's not going to be at it's best much outside that range.

Youngfolk,

I have one of these lenses. They are superb for 5x7 and 8x10 size film. But you must have a bellows at least about 600mm in length for 1:1 reproduction. As Larry mentioned, Macros are poorer at Infinity.

See below. They were made in the 1970s and 1980s, but not a lot due to bellows extension needed.

The 210mm or later, the 180mm were more useful with the 4x5 shooters.

If you still get this I am here if you have more questions.
