I was able to place an order with Ilford/Wynit today. I expect the film with my next shipment.... at least they haven't mentioned any back orders.

Dear Rob et al,

The SFX 200 film is unlikely to land in the USA and be with WYNIT until early April, For your information the 120 catalog number is 1901029 the 35mm 135-36 is 1829189 and the 'value kit' containing 3 x 135-36 + the SFX 200 filter is 1150654 : The filter on its own is 1911176

I hope you all enjoy using this film.

Regards

I didn't know you could order just the filter.. what I ordered was some 120, some 35mm and a few of the "value kits".... if you just order the filter Simon is it the same filter as in the kits?

Thanks! I Hadn't seen that one yet  . Time to take the last few rolls of the old stock out of the freezer :D .

I've checked some of my "regular" webshops; I haven't yet seen one that lists the new SFX...

Can somebody recommend an online shop in mainland Europe or UK that lists SFX (in 120 format)?

For the best example I have ever seen of what's possible with Ilford SFX have a look at " Quality in Photography" by Roger Hicks and Frances Schultz. On page 64 there is " Mill and Foliage" by Frances. OK it must have been 120 rather than 35mm and it was an ALPA but the effect is superb and appears grain free.

Thanks very much for the kind words. Frances was delighted! The filter was Ilford's own gel filter, the only one we have that will fit that lens.

Cheers,

R.

i glad to hear it, i will be purchasing a few rolls as soon at it rolls off the line.

I can't be arsed to read through every post, but was under the impression from reading this thread a little while back that SFX was being re-released around this time (march of 07). My local supplier (and no this isn't a wolf camera kind of place), which is very on top of their film stocks and supply lines, said they'd check with their ilford rep/distributor but thus far had not heard anything from them about availability. Has the re-release date been pushed back or is this a distributor thing?

I believe impatience may be your issue.

On the previous page Ilford states it will land in the U.S. in early April. My local dealer has confirmed an availablity date in his store of late April.

From previous posts it sounds like similar dates apply in Europe as well.

Dear All,

It is shipping to Europe now, so obviously it should be available once it has gone through the supply chain, couple of weeks is my guess.

I just assumed it was a troll. I still think it was.

I don't see why anyone should take the time to look up a piece of information for someone who simply "can't be arsed" to do it for himself.

Especially when the desired info was posted by Simon only one page ago.

Sheesh!

Good news, thanks

RK had some on the shelf when I went up there earlier this week for a few bits, we bought one roll as we've not tried any IR photography before, we paid £4.95 for a 35mm roll but think we were charged the 120 price by mistake instead of £5.95, how much did it cost pre Ilford bankruptcy?

I see that Retro are now selling it in UK - bit pricy though.
Yikes! That must be full RRP - talk about 'aving a larf.... At RK's Focus price of £4.50 per single 35mm it was reasonable (if not exactly cheap with FP4/HP5 at £3.00) but at much over that, I can't see it selling: certainly not to me...

We shall see once it is in all the outlets such as Mathers and market forces does its stuff. I'm hoping that the RK website price was put up pre-launch and will come down now they have stocks... hope...

Cheers, Bob.

I hope so too. I was really looking forward to giving this film a go. Okay, I was expecting it to be a bit more than the usual FP4. Still, time will tell.

This is excellent news. I always intended to try it out (after I'd finished experimenting with Konica IR750), but right as I was about to begin, both films dissappeared. I'll be checking around for this, and picking up some rolls when they become available.

Thank you again to Simon and Ilford!

I just might die with a smile on my face after all

IIRC Konica 750 was about 6-7 notes a roll, but hopefully as Bob F says prices will come down {still have some in the freezer:D :D :smile: :tongue: }

I'm debating as to if I should have one of my buds in Britain buy me a roll or two and post it to me in the US or if I should patiently wait.

Simon,
it might be an idea to let your resellers know you are making SFX; I enquired about it today at Silverprint & they had no idea that it was being made.

Funny that, I emailed Silverprint and they've replied today that "We'll be getting the SFX film (35 & 120) early next week."

Oh and Speedgraphic appear to be selling it as well.

Is SFX 200 going to be sold in Canada?
