Agfa MCC is one of my favorite papers to use, glad to hear it has another chance.
Even more glad to hear that it's Adox behind it.
Love you guys more and more every day.

Email sent, this is the best news I've had in 2 years. I'm anticipating that the whiter base might be even better than the original MCC111.

My only concern at this stage is whether you will have a distributor for Australia.

Regards, Matt.

Matt,

the question of distribution will be dealed with after we go into large scale production with this paper.
At this point we make only a small test run to get as much feedback as possible.

We need to know the exact costs for coating first before we can decide on a distribution model. It does not make sense to loose money on the paper but on the other hand it also does not make sense to put the price way above others.
The longer the chain from the producer to the user the higher the price will be.
Also taking into account the hesistance of most dealers to stock up with monochrome products we might have to establish a direct channel for the first time to come. We can ship to Australia from here for as little as 29 EUR.

Carefull dealer bugging once the product is out will be highly appreciated as it has prooven to help a lot in the past

Best regards,

Mirko

Mirko, surely setting up something with the major sponsors of this site would be one significant avenue to get distribution going? that would get the US covered fairly significantly, but I only know of two sponsors listed for the UK. Not sure about other countries.

Thanks Mirko,
I understand that it's not an easy decision re distribution in small markets. if the sample is good I'll be happy to buy direct from you.

Regards, Matt.

New AGFA production!

Its not mentioned - its probably too early for that.

One should point out, if necessary, that it concerns a DECLARATION OF INTENT! That is still no concrete reference to a resumption of a AGFA company production.

Who is interested on original AGFA APX 100 and APX 400, as well as AGFA SCALA films, should visit: www.mahn.net;)

Hi all,

thanks again for all the feedback and support.
Every one who mailed up to now will receive samples.
I am not getting to answer every email individually because of another project which ties up my time but if you have sent an email you are in.
Please do not send PM´s as they are difficult for me to extract and save.
All emails sent to mccproject@fotoimpex.de are automatically stored and will be processed by my staff as soon as the test coating is done and cut.
I am also reading every single one after my staff has sorted out the spam.

We have to see how high postage costs will be (varies from country to country) but it may well be that our advertisement budget has room for some more stamps. So feel free to continue to add to the list.

Best regards and have a nice weekend,

Mirko

Thank you Mirko.

haris

I wish all success to Fotoimpex people and to thank them for all their effort.

I won't apply for test samples because I don't think my knowledge is good enough to make relevant conclusions for other people, but that doesn't mean I won't be future user of those products if they are find out to be good

Thanks again to people at Fotoimpex,

Haris

Ofcourse there will be such !

We are currently working on a feedback form which will be included in the sample paper shippment and which is planned to be made available online as well.

If you have any suggestions beforehand e.g. what you prefered or disliked about the old paper, let us know so we can look into this.

What we like about Agfa MCC 111:

-- The slightly warm emulsion tones in the midrange.

-- The inky blacks.

-- The range and smooth tone transitions in highlights and lighter midtones -- perfect for printing facial skintones in portraiture.

--The reliable consistency and quality of the emulsion.

-- It dries flat. (A HUGE plus for the paper.)

-- The color of the paper base. It would be okay if it were a bit whiter, but not so white as to verge on blue.

What we don't like:

-- The finish could be a little less glossy.

[Sorry, it's a short list of dislikes. ]

No one has mentioned Agfa MCC 118. I LOVED this paper's color and emulsion, but never used it for one big reason: I hated the pebbly texture. If you could find a way to resurrect MCC 118 with a typical dull/gloss finish, I would buy thousands of sheets of the stuff.

As Kodak is out of the game (or shakes its legs), hope there are spece for all ilford, Fuji, and Adox Fotoimpex on the market, and that ilford will stay nearly unaffected. Good luck to all.

Thanks for the update, Mirko! If need be, I have no problems paying for postage.
