Actually Stone, I would be happy to teach someone how to do it for $1M. But, I would not produce any commercial runs and the lab would have to be set up beforehand with equipment and chemicals to my specification. That latter would not be included in the $1M of course, or I would spend the $1M myself just setting up!
You understand that, right?
Edit: After seeing all the hype about tax increases in 2013, I would like to add that the $1M that I would get would be after taxes.
You understand that as well, right?
PE
Come to Rochester NY, the former "Mecca" for photography.

... and we could arrange for a special tour of the George Eastman House (and collection).

Yes, Fred and I live in Rochester and have been associates for many many years. By all means, visit us at GEH.

You could also arrange a 3 minute tour of what is left of Kodak's operations....
Actually PE was so many times the object of a proposal to close him in a barn to work at this project that I think he begun seriously worrying about it to be put in practice
Can't do it. I was the offerer of the barn. And I lost it in a fire a few years ago.

AFAIK, there are no tours of Kodak at all anymore. There were in days gone by.

Kodak was involved in manufacturing in China.
Kodak manufactured film in China, Australia, Brazil, Canada, England and France as well as having 2 plants in the US. At present, products are only manufactured in England and the US.
The China plant still runs under another name and produces films with obsolete Kodak formulas.
PE
Offhand, IDK which Chinese label uses Kodak formulas. Besides, AFAIK the Chinese plant only made color film.
I know where there is a large stash of Tech Pan.I will never tell the true story behind it.

But that transferring of production and employment to abroad shoud not only be an issue for manufacturers, but also for the government that controlls in-/export, and by that for those people that voted for that government. And, for those people who want cheaper products.
And for those people who want healthy relations with their neighbours by trading with eatch other.
Things get complicated...
I know where there is a large stash of Tech Pan.I will never tell the true story behind it.
And in Germany too.
