Hello all,

I have bunch of cameras in need of a CLA.

These include a Canon 7, Olympus XA, Oly 35 RC, Konica Auto.

I'm in the Boston area. Can anyone recommend reasonable and reliable techs?

And the catch ... I'm hoping not to spend the earth on the CLAs, as sometimes the cameras (economically) might not be worth it.

Thanks to all.

From recent experience, a CLA will cost at or above the price of what most of the cameras you listed are worth on the used market in working condition. There are less people doing them than 10 years ago, for some models you'll need to send them to another state/country, and for some you can't even find a person who does them.

Of the ones you listed, 3 of them sound like they will be on the easier side, Olympus XA might be harder.

Don't know of any in the Boston area. I'm about to send my Konica ART3 to a place in Vermont. Fingers crossed.

Thanks Eric. Would you mind telling me who?
Although I said Boston, that was for convenience. I don't mind shipping.

Thank you. That is what my concern is. So, what does one do with cameras whose CLA might not be economically worth it?
Its interesting that there are fewer people now, than 10 years ago. Such a shame...

Thats where I sent my Kodak Monitor 616 to get cla'ed & new bellows installed (I supplied those, found it on ebay). To repair the shutter, cla, & cleaning the optics was $90 & to get the new bellows installed was $85 ($175 in total, way cheaper than another place here in Cali I sent my Kodak Monitor 620 to get fixed/new bellows installed)

For cameras that are relatively easy to work on, for example a leaf shutter with speeds that are slow or sticking, I've taken on doing it myself. Same for light seals or bellows replacement. These are things that for many cameras just require unscrewing 5-10 parts and can be done in an afternoon.
