Just got some 4x5 Fidelity dark slides. Lo and behold, one side is black, and other one is red. I have not seen a darkslide like this before. Did they originally come with this?
I rather would expect the contrary... for handling this makes more sense.Since both tabs are silver, I guess the red side means unexposed film. Black means exposed?

BUT then at exposure the red side would face the film. Not good.

Black and red dark slides for Fidelity holders are very common in Japan, as are black and red dark cloths. Whether they were painted locally or came like that from Fidelity, I can't say. Interestingly, I've seen very few Toyo holders like this. Perhaps yours came from Japan, or if you bought them in the US, the seller had bought them from me.
