At 3:18 into the video, notice the name of the photographer: "Yo Mamiya" !!!

This video just brightened my day, thank you.

Thanks for the link — interesting to watch. I’m glad to hear of the resurgence! I’m trying to figure out why the proprietor seems to have a photo of Johnny Halliday on the wall behind him; maybe French pop is making a resurgence in Japan too...Love the wood-paneled darkroom.

That's awesome. I don't have high hopes of slowing down the loss of film sold by Fuji, but maybe a film revival in its home country is the best chance.

Another thank you for putting this on APUG.

I am going to keep buying Fujifilm film just to p*off all the Fujifilm haters ;-)

People don't hate Fuji film or even Fuji as a company. People hate the Korinthenkacker (*) accountants that killed Fuji pack film, among other products.

Thanks for the video link.

It makes me want to take a trip to Japan to shop for a camera or six.

Fuji is killing its own films. This s the only truth about film in Japan.

Don’t forget that Instax has revolutionised instant photography. It’s probably of no interest to you, but millions of younger people are discovering film because of it.

Just a few threads up from this new thread there is one about it being "Official that Fuji hates film:D OK it is an old thread from several years ago and there may be hate in the long marriage but the divorce is very slow. :D

Great video, thanks for sharing.

As a lab owner I was delighted to see all the processed film hanging up in the background ( see 4:07).

I did a simple film count (number of films processed in our lab) and 2017 was up 10% on 2016. I know that it's just a local market and I am out in the sticks, on the periphery of Europe but I can see an increase film sales and processing (we do mailorder in EU as well as local walk in). Long may it happen.

Thank you for sharing that link. I enjoyed watching the video.

Once in a while I roam on Japanese auction sites, and let me tell you, there's a bid on almost every single photographic lump of steel. I noticed that our Japanese friends seems be quite fond of rangefinders & small cameras.

One person interviewed: "I just love blurry photos."
