I can't speak to what film/camera makers do but I will share this: During the latest winter holiday season my youngest grandkids (5,8 & not quite 11) were over and the youngest had brought an instax with her. As they played with it they were posing and directing each other and sharing the results. Now, they could have easily done the same with their phones (yes, they have phones, except for the youngest but she knows her way around an iPad better than me) but instead were handling a physical object, the print. How much this had to do with the sharing, the touching or that the device was intended for a single purpose is a question I can't answer. This was just an observation. I like to believe it had to do with the tactile sensation but that may just be my preference.
