I'd like an honest EI of 400, fine grain and sharp pictures.
Would I be better off pulling a 1600 or 3200 speed film or
push a 400 to 400? Dan

Use Delta 400, which is a true 400 speed film in most general purpose developers. Also, many 400 speed films give 400 speed in Microphen with normal gamma.

Ryuji is (of course) right, I just want to add that "suggested EI 3200" films have a measured true speed of 800-1000 ISO in standard developers. So, you won't need to do a lot of "pulling"... Anyway, if I wanted a 400 ISO film with fine grain and the rest, I'd try the Delta.
