So the last couple of weeks I have been setting up my darkroom to go big once again. I just kept putting it of for some reason. However today i tried my biggest print to date. Not that i am planning on going bigger. The print is drying now. I still use expired paper until my work flow is just right. I am not there yet. So here is me with the print. I used a 4x5 negative in my Durst L184 enlarger. I did use a horizontal setup. For reference i am 6 foot 4 or 1,93m.
OMG!!!! Wow!!!! that's awesome!!!!

bunip, that’s a great solution! I saw a motorized DIY somewhere, yours is a better way to go!
I have to admit that I used this solution in a horizontal setup only 2-3 times, but after using it I adopted the system for regular printing sessions as it’s so helpful in microfocusing and so fast that I took away the long rope with the second rod and maintained a short rope to focus with 6x6-6x9 or 13x18 negatives and a 150mm or 240mm lens in 30x40cm paper. Now it’s my regular focusing aid.

when I was looking for a distant focusing aid I bought the components for a diy motorized solution and considered it’s construction with an engineer friend. After few projects i went for this rude but simple and inexpensive try and never looked back again
