IMO it's a good thing people are using different papers (& surfaces?) so people who haven''t seen the variety available get to see something different.

I've used paper you can't buy anymore, so don't think you'll replicate my print 'look'

I've been thinking the same thing Nige, we're not just sharing a place in time that we've captured, but our whole artistic process. I'm always interested to see how other people go about getting the look they love... and lets face it, if we're here, it's pretty safe to assume we're all nerds, so we get off on technical details and the 'behind the curtain' workings as well as the actual image... well, I know I do anyway

that's why it's important to fill in as much detail as you can on the info sheets!

I actually haven't really looked at any of the prints I've been sent, I figure it would be unfair to take a peek at them before everyone else gets to. I have a pile on the desk that is slowly increasing in size. A Carson's prints arrived today

That's one of the things that I like about the postcard exchange, the examples of different processes are nearly as exciting as the photographs themselves. I've got some very nice examples of infrared photography, and different places around the world, because of it. The one example I have of Kodak metallic paper is pretty neat.

My "holy cow" moment was when I received my first platinum/palladium print in one of the international group print exchanges. I still have no idea how it was done and I don't want to spoil the mystery by reading up on it yet ...

Don't you hate it when you can't get a print 'just right'? Damn, and the clock's ticking...

Well, my new box of FB paper only arrived from Vanbar this afternoon, so my choice of paper was made for me. All printed on RC last night. I have put the prints in the mail this afternoon, Tim, so you should probably get them on Tuesday.

no worries, FYI, I'm receiving prints, I'm not going to keep posting who I've received prints from, once we get past the cut-off date, I'll put up a list of whose prints I've received and whose I haven't.

Wow, lith prints, now that's dedication. The thing with a lith print I hear is that 2 prints never look the same.

Argh! I finished all of mine up late last week, then hung them up to dry before shooting off to spend the long weekend with friends... on my return, I've found my staining looks absolutely disgusting! Blotchy and not at all presentable, bugger! I'm going to give them a good old wash & rinse again and see if they can be saved, otherwise... I'll be up very late over the next two nights

Hi Tim,
I dropped my prints off to hopefully you address, yours is the upstairs unit I hope. The one with the tracing paper over the top is for you for organising this exchange. Let me know if they didn't get to you.
cheers

yep, mine is the upstairs unit, I think I got your prints the other day. I haven't opened any of the envelopes yet but thanks everyone who has submitted so far. I also collected Glenn's prints today from the mailroom at work.

I will have to wait to look at the pictures in my group till mid July. At work this morning I was told I will be spending 3 & 1/2 weeks in US leaving Thursday. Any one know of good picture locations in an around the Lansing (MI) area? Having to decide on what cameras to take will be the hardest.

Not entirely happy with mine, but they'll have to to... I feel like I've been slogging my guts out on a science project, and am walking to school with it just knowing it's not up to par. As I pulled them all down from their second washing I noticed a hair on the neg that I'd missed... damn this sharing a house with a cat, I'm glad it's only temporary! I'll take a walk tomorrow evening and drop mine around if that's okay?

I think I've received more than 50% of the prints now, if you haven't sent them, please do so.

I'll post up a list at the end of week of whose prints I have / haven't received. So be warned!! if you haven't sent them yet, you will be named and shamed

But seriously, try and get them in this week if you can't, a couple of days late isn't really an issue, I think everyone would prefer to see quality prints rather than rushed prints.

Some delays are typical based on what I've experienced in the international print exchanges. Hopefully all will submit soon... Looking forward to the returned prints.
