Mine done, and should be flat by now. Will go in the post tomorrow. Can't wait to see what every one else's prints are like.

Did my prints this morning. Now for some very minor spotting, and I can send them on to Tim. Flattened of course.
Mike

I was in Sydney the last two weeks for audit so no time to scratch. Now back home. I think I know what neg to print but will have to set up a temp darkroom this weekend and get printing...

Have just finished my printing session. It was very enjoyable to be back printing after 3 years without a darkroom setup. The kitchen had to do tonight. With an enlarger I'd never used before, purchased off ebay. With old chemicals. Suffering from a bad cold. I even had to dig out the instructions for the f-stop pro to remember how to use the thing correctly.

It's a minor miracle they turned out at all! So out of practice ... sigh

Hopefully they'll look nice when dry in the morning and then I can prep for posting early next week.

Looking forward to sharing and seeing others in return.

nice one, received 4 sets of prints so far, well done guys, I better get off my a** and start printing.

My prints are just flattening, they'll be mailed out on Tuesday. I can't wait to get a look at everyone else's work, it really is different to see a print in person instead of a scan online. I think we'll all get a lot out of it.

Back in the kitchen darkroom again tonight. Decided the first batch were all sub-standard so into the bin they go. Went off to get fresh paper and chemicals yesterday and this afternoon, completely dismantled and serviced the enlarger to clear out 3 years worth of storage dust.

Tonight's prints are much better! Now I'm matching the reference print I made the last time all was good in the darkroom. I'll be happy to send these out once dry and flat.

received another set of prints today just a reminder to make sure you use something waterproof -- the postie put the envelope half in / half out of the post box, if it had rained we would have been in trouble if someone had sent me something not waterproof. (everyone knows what the weather is like in Melbourne this time of year!).

If anyone wants to play it safe, you can also address the prints to:
Timothy Kohlman
IBM Australia
459 Collins St, Melbourne 3000

So far received prints from
Nige
Barrie B
Kevin
Bird
Warren

Hi Mick, you can, though I don't work from that office as I'm on a client site, the mailroom will pick it up if it's couriered to them and then email me, otherwise, I am usually at 333 collins st if you wanted to drop them off in person, PM me and I'll give you my mobile number.

Tim,

Mine still to hit the PO. All stops being pulled now to make sure they go tomorrow.

I have been a bit flat out, but finally chose a negative and did a quick couple of workprints tonight. Was going to do RC prints, but now thinking I should probably do FB...
I will aim to put them in the post later this week, Tim.
Looking forward to seeing everyone's work!
Ian

Tim, mine are in the post now and going to your work address. I don't trust the posties not to try and bend/fold for mailbox delivery, despite the warnings written on the envelope. (ours is terrible for that).

It has been an absolute pleasure to get back into printing again. Thanks to all who nudged this along; it was just the little kick in the pants I needed.

Mine are in the mail, in one of the black plastic bags that Ilford papers come in, to keep out the rain...
So dont worry, it's nothing light sensitive  opening one of those bags in the daylight always feels like heresy.

Is anyone printing on RC paper?
I ordered some more WTFB paper from Vanbar yesterday but don't know when it will get here.

Ian

I've printed mine on RC paper, been using it as my main paper for close to 23 years now.

The amount of water I've saved is unbelievable, water usage went down a bit when I changed over. These days it would be almost criminal, to keep using the tank loads of water I went through for photography.

Mick.

I also printed on RC paper - since I live on acerage with HSTP (Home Sewage Treatment Plant) I have to be far more careful with what and how much I pour down the drain now compared to when I lived in suburbia.

I have the advantage of university facilities, but when I lived at home in the country I printed exclusively RC. Even at university I'm always the one following people around turning off the wash baths when there's no prints or film being washed...
I remember when I was in America, my friend would leave the tap running in the sink while she went to get a glass to put the water in. Just a different culture.

Yes, one of the main reasons that I don't do much fibre printing now is because of Brisbane's water situation over the last few years. (My parents were always extreme water-savers, so the restrictions didn't take that much getting used to!)
But the water situation at the moment is currently much improved (and I have an enormous water tank that I cannot seem to empty) so I can now do batches of FB prints sometimes without feeling too bad.
Nice to see that I won't be the only one sending RC though if I end up going that way.

Ian

I still haven't decided if I'll do FB or not, will be printing this weekend, however I'm mindful that the clock is ticking!

I...however I'm mindful that the clock is ticking!

I'm feeling the same! I had to re-arrange my kitchen & laundry last night so I can get back to printing, I'm in the middle of moving house at the moment, and also have a friend staying with me... add to that some big family news this week, and it's just been impossible to get down to work! I'm hoping for a productive night tonight though, hopefully I will, at the very least, work out my dodge/burn patterns (I haven't printed this image before).
