The Cold War - during which any publication about nuclear tests would have undoubtedly been a breach of law.

yes, it's not a proper war and only Kodak was co-responsible. They just preferred to save the business instead of human lives and this is sufficient to me.

I am absolutely sure that they would have considered protection of those secrets to be wholly in the interest of saving lives.
Were you around during the Cold War years? Did you ever experience school drills during that time, when the nuclear attack air ride sirens wailed?

20/20 hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Wouldn't it have been great to know in the past what we know now?
At the very least, Kodak would still be a major employer, providing a really good living to hundreds of thousands of dedicated employees, and we would have had a chance to stock up before any film price increases.

Is it time for an Ilforders v Kodakers thread in the Soapbox?. They now sound vaguely like two NFL teams and every Sunday we could have a sort of half-time summary as to the state of play. Question is which impartial person does the summary- DT perhaps if he fails to secure the POTUS or perhaps not? His hair colour does bear a remarkable resemblance to my Kodak stop when diluted correctly so this may indicate a Kodak bias :D

Is my post getting just silly and irrelevant? It represents one of my stupid jokes perhaps? Yes it certainly does but then again the thread seems to have taken a similar kind of turn in irrelevance at least and frankly may have run its course. Just like my strange( neutral adjective ) or stupid( adjective with more of an edge) humour

We must be practicing it in a different way

I wouldn’t care for anything except that I’d have the powerball winning numbers’n’that’s’it.

Are film prices really what is preventing analog photographers from doing good work? Would you become a better photographer if Ilford film prices went down 6% instead going up 6%? Is that what is holding you back?

So what?
You're wrong: Kodak actually wanted to sue US Government for the loss of sales that nuclear bom tests were causing to them.

AND the government for decades paid Kodak to continue to keep the infrared product line for black & white [HIE] and color [Ektachrome]. Obviously you are too young to understand classification, clearances and the legal ramification as well as the Cold War, however Italy was also heavily involved having its own counter parts. By the way I did work in Napoli during the 1960s so I do have a good understand of Italian government, history and its cultures.

We didn't, don't and won't have nuclear weapons, we are not responsible for thousand of deaths caused by nuclear fallout and the government cover-ups.

Italy did not and does not have nuclear weapons, however Italy was actively involved in the Cold War and skillfully maneuvering for its best advantage. So Italy was an active participant.

but it wasn't responsible for thousand of deaths due to nuclear fallout.
It's crystal clear that your're beating about the bush

No you are using 21st century hindsight to pass judgement on real time decisions in the mid 20th century. If you want to do that you would have to condemn the Catholic Church in Rome for its handling of Galileo.

wanna talk about Vietnam?

Looks like this thread has taken on an interesting tangent nobody at Ilford imagined when they hiked up 6%. Mussolini was a friend with another interesting monster of disucused era. Is this really where things need to go over Ilford's prices in 2020?

I vote to lock this thread up. +1

Ok, looks like this thread has gone well beyond establishing that Ilford is planning a 6% price increase.
