I also received rlibersky's "Havana Cathedral". Beautiful photo of the cathedral, very nicely printed, as the others have said. It's amazing what you can do at ISO 64,000! Thanks Randy!

Well finally getting some time to acknowledge the postcards sent

Ansel Mortensen, Hatch Chili
Michael Howard, Miss Piggy
Chris Ellinger, Passage
Raphael, Unfinished
Mshchem, Dendritic Shadows
DRPSilver, Got Calculis
Rduraoc, Arriving in Lisbon

I have one card with no name on it. A shadow of a person on a gymnastic (I assume) bar

All very nice photos and have enjoyed receiving them.

Received card from @drpsilver , "Got Calculus" . Very well composed and printed. Nice paper. Thank you for the beautiful card.

I have received several postcards as follows:
MSHCHEM "Dendritic Shadows" as the title suggests shadows of what looks like a tree on an old building, with lovely tonal quality.
rduraoc Arriving in Lisbon. I love the selenium tone in this beautiful print of the old central train station in Lisbon, Portugal. I have never bleached before using selenium.
DRPSILVER "GOT CALCULUS" I have no interest in mathematics but can fully appreciate this selenium toned print on Ilford Portfolio paper. Lovely tones.
mfohl "Another Pinhole Tree" I can imagine the skill required to take a pinhole photograph and print it with no cropping. I have never tried pinhole photography.
Michael Howard Blending In Taken in Greenville Zoo, SC. Yes the giraffe looks contemplative. You have captured the weirdness of these beautiful animals!
Don Heisz Sumac I love the way the sumac is framed in the print, with the middle section rising above the rest of the plant.

I'm late as usual, but I posted my prints off a couple of days ago.

I received “Arriving in Lisbon, 1999” from @rduraoc. For some reason the post office put a big white label on the front but I risked peeling it off and was glad to find it came off cleanly and easily. The print looks great! It’s an interesting scene to explore with the eye. Thanks for sending it.

3 more arriving here:

@Daniela 's nice game of contrast with "Arrival", @Ajven 's interesting coincidence (?) between the shape of the main subject and the tree in the background in "Lethal buds", and @Rlibersky 's image of Havana's cathedral - a bigger version of this should look great.

Catching up on a couple of postcards that arrived recently. I received unfinished from @koraks, a peaceful scene tied to some interesting family memories. It’s good that you still have a connection to that intersection of place, history and family. @drpsilver sent Got Calculus, a rather intimidating collection of math texts (for me at least). A nice vignette that describes a lot of time invested in a area of personal
interest!

I received rduraoc's "Arriving in Lisbon", a noirish scene in a railway station. The white line (from an open overhead window?) leads right into the two guys with the heavy suitcase. Anything interesting in there? And the guy sitting on the left, is he involved? Asks lots of questions. Nice! Thanks Rui.

Yesterday's post I received by @FilmIsCheap "Hang in there Minnesota " never been a more appropriate sentiment! Well done
And
From Daniela, "Arrival" a humanoid figure, metallic, I hope it hasn't arrived for world takeover 😊
Nicely done!!!

Two more arrived:

FilmIsCheap: "Hang in there, Minnesota". Yes, hang in there -- we are with you!
rduraoc: "Arriving in Lisbon, 1999". Lovely print, that is telling a story. I also like to revisit old negatives -- always something new to see.

Thanks!

chris

@AnselMortensen -- a nice neighbour was kind enough to drop off your card, which was delivered to the wrong address. It's a great print. The red postal mark on the photo .... I'm not sure it adds to it 🙂

I just received Daniela's "Arrival". I think I've seen this guy (or gal? or thing?) in several sci fi flicks! Maybe Terminator? Anyway, great composition, and very nicely printed. Thanks Daniela! No postal scuffs! And is that Josephine Baker on the stamp?

Received an excellent little print from @SJC1952 - a pretty evocative image of a guy with a whoppping big chain (must have a mighty big wallet, I imagine). Excellently printed. I like it a lot. Thanks! I was looking forward to getting a card from you, since I've seen so many of your great street photos in the gallery.

I'm very sorry for the delay, but I shipped the postcards yesterday.

@mshchem:The image of the tree branches stretching along the wall looks almost like blood vessels. It's a truly beautiful print. I also use a FUJI GW680 III.
@AnselMortensen : I grinned at the thought of chili peppers crossing the ocean and being passed from postman to postman.
@drpsilver : I'm sure I learned calculus, but I haven't retained any of it. I want to master it, even now. Also, I learned that Pearl RC portfolio paper is slightly thicker than the glossy RC portfolio postcard paper.
@mfohl : I was once again captivated by the image quality of the pinhole camera. Even at such a wide angle, there's naturally no aberration.
@Michael Howard : This is my first time actually seeing Foma 313 velvet photographic paper. I also understand why you said it was okay to leave the fogging that occurred when using the safelight as is.
@chris ellinger : I had never heard of zone plate cameras. The images are like something out of a dream. The large 5x7 inch photographic paper arrived without any distortion of the corners or damage to the image.
@rduraoc : I think the selenium-based color effect is fully utilized in this scene. The path of light falling at the feet gives a sense of warmth.
@koraks : This work made me think about the relationship between photographs and text. It made me realize that text doesn't always complement the information we get from just looking at an image. Nevertheless, it's a beautiful scene.

received "Arriving in Lisbon" from @rduraoc . Very nice print, love the paper and process. I am going to try bleaching and selenium toning. Thank you 🙂

I received a card from Henri Cartier-Bresson, with a note telling me the weather in Paris is splendid and that he will come see me in the summer!

(It is April 1)
