That's good to hear! I send a weekly postcard to my grandson, who I think would otherwise never be exposed to the joy of art on paper. And--I admit, I secretly hope that the mail man is also enjoying them.

Received today.

'Hygie Yacht Raft' - rduraoc - What interesting provenance for that image - I can't help but wonder where life's path took the subjects in the photo.
'Cactus in the Sun' - Michael Howard - I don't think it would be much fun stumbling into that in the dark - Nice contrast brings out the ouchie parts.

I received @gbroadbridge 's "Path to Lizard Rock", all the way from Australia. A good example of how from the devastation of forest fires new opportunities arise. Thank you!

I put 25 cards (card in envelope) in the mail today. 15 international 10 usa.

Congrats, Mike - I know it's been nagging at you.
Now you just need to get ready for the next round 🙂

I received Bazamat's "Hayton Rocks, U.K.". A very nice landscape in what appears to be a very remote place. Nice shadow detail, and even some detail in the sky. Nice paper, and minimal scuffing from the postal service. Thanks Mr. Qiu!

I received jvo's "apparition, rodin seated". A really cool (old) shot, looks like it was taken in a train station. Almost looks like a double exposure. A large shadow in among the large pillars. Really good eye on this one, thanks James.

I just received MSHCHEM's "Felon Felon." A nice shot, and also a timely one. Thank you!

Got two cards today. gbroadbridge's "Path to Lizard Rock", a nice shot out in the woods somewhere. And it does look like the head of a lizard. And mshchem's political statement. A mailbox.

I received @jvo 's card yesterday. Looks very mysterious - like the way they used to show someone getting murdered in movies back when they assumed people could imagine things. Very cool, James - thanks!

I received F'Elon Felon from MSHCHEM... wow you still have postcard paper, how great. very timely photo as today is April 2nd and the US governments new independence day.
Path To Lizard Rock from gbroadbridge... sad that there was a fire but good that you can see the rock better. Nice photo and nice print.

Today's post.

'apparition' from @jvo - That's a haunting image indeed . Is it a shadow or a trick of the light is the first thought I had ...

Last week I received two postcards:
"Felon Felon" by @mshchem - Even the postcard did not have to have a date of production. It is immediately clear from looking at the postcard that it was not taken too long ago.
The print from @jvo - even after 45 years it looks scary! I'll lock that postcard in a box so the ghost can't come off the wall.

Thank you all fot the postcards
By the way - receiving these postcards my current score is equal - I have received 9 postcards (from 15 expected) so far and I have 9 confirmations that my postcards were delivered.

Today received a nice print from @darinwc - a very nice view of of a house with Craftsman features and a historic lighthouse in the background. Very nice tones in the print - and I understand about thinking it needed more contrast once you had in daylight. Sometimes, being in the darkroom can make it very difficult to see properly and you have no idea what something looks like until the next day. Still, it's a very nice photo. Thanks!

Thanks Don! Some of the cards came out better than others. I did find out that my darkroom light was fogging the paper if I left them open for too long. -Will have to address that before the next session.

I also received darinwc's "Hello from California". A nice scene, cool lighthouse in the back. Yes, maybe it could use a little more contrast. My question is, what format is the camera? I'm guessing 6x9? Very sharp, by the way. Enjoy your new camera and darkroom! Thanks Darin.

I have a red led bulb bought from Lowes - no idea what brand name it had, unfortunately. I bought three or four red led bulbs before I found that one. The other ones all fogged the paper.

That replaced a Safelight Jr bulb I'd been using for a long time. So, when in doubt, you could go with that.

Yes the Bessa ii is 6x9. I had to print only 6x7 though because I didn't have a 6x9 carrier for my enlarger

Yesterday I received:
"Winter Story" by @Dunga : A nice square postcard with a very informative text story attached. Great winter picture and I appreciate the postage stamps too.
"Tag, You're IT!" by @drpsilver : Very nice framing of the painting. It is a pleasure to look at this postcard. And it is fun as well.

Thank you guys!

I received Darin Cozine's photo of the lighthouse keepers house. It's amazing that the old Bessa II would/could take such a sharp photo after all these years. I guess they were really well made. As you mentioned, could of used a touch more contrast.

Received 14 April.

Lighthouse Cottage - @darinwc - What a great great place to live but I bet the walk to work would have been interesting on a cold stormy night! Agree with your comment about the contrast.

Received Winter Story from @Dunga -- looks quite familiar, actually. It's a small version of the large print I got in the Blind Print Exchange. Cool! Thanks!

P.S., I enjoyed the long write-up you provided. I can sympathize with using a camera in the freezing cold.
