Thank you mfohl, mshchem, Todd Barlow, and Don_ih for you comments on "Tailgate Ornament". This gull was cooperative mainly because the person parked next to me was preparing lunch, and he wanted a portion of that lunch.

A very interesting card, "D'oh", from Mshchem. I really like the whimiscal nature of this artwork. Very well done photographing, and printing. You are very brave to work with color in the darkroom. Congratulation on a print well done.
"Trail Gloom - Zion National Park" by Michael Howard does have a sense of gloom. The high contrast lighting does not help. Nicely exposed to keep some shadow detail without "blowing-out" the sky.
"most dangerous block ..." by JVO is really cool because it its printed in negative. I am glad that you did not know how dangerous it was when you were working in the area.

July 2 - Daniela - Untitled - Great shot!, to me it conveys motion of the birds and the tower / smoke stock. I also like the corner of the roof of another building in the lower left it makes the photo more three dimensional.

Thank you! In case you want to look it up, the monument is the "Arles Obelisk", situated in the center of the city in front of the town hall of Arles, France. Beautiful city. I went back to the square several times and waited to get the shot.

Yesterday, I received @Rob Skeoch 's beautiful "Red pepper #4 with yellow filter". Just watched the printing video and it's so cool and educational to hold the print in my hand as you describe the process! Thank you, Rob!

For Canadian based participants who mail internationally (this includes the USA):
If you advise the Canada Post clerk that you are spending at least $5CDN on postage that is going international (postcards and or packages) you can apparently ask them to not charge the 5% GST (Goods and Services Tax).
May not be a huge savings for postcards (for me it would have meant a savings of about $2.66 CDN), however for packages this could be much more.

If you buy stamps in the specific denomination needed for international letters, including letters to the USA, they usually know not to charge the GST, irrespective of the size of your purchase.

Hi Matt, that’s exactly what I thought when I was told about this. However this is my 4th PCX and with numerous packages to the USA later i can confirm the Post Office I use charges the GST. I will remind them from now on.

Got your card, @Todd Barlow -- I like it and can see why you would be attracted to it. I see somewhat similar things often and mostly never stop. Driving should be good for photography - it mostly stops it from happening. Good print!

Received @mshchem 's "D'oh". Lovely tones of a street art piece. I'm glad I'm not the only one who shoots that! I love the expression and ephemerality of it. If you ever visit Paris, the Belleville area is awesome for finding gems all over the place. Literally, in every cranny and nook of façades.

Trail Gloom by Michael Howard... great photo of the park and trailhead area.
D'oh by Mshchem... such a fun photo of the street art. Looks like someone had a lot of fun painting it as well.
Mt Washington Cog Rail by Ben_P... interesting composition as it fads into the distance. Lots of detail in the sharp foreground area.
Tailgate Ornament by Darwin... those Mono Lake birds are so co-operative... and make great models. lol
Most dangerous block by James O'Gara ... very graphic looking negative... how did you get a negative print?

Today I received Todd Barlow's "Angles and other Shapes". A nice scene of a concrete picnic table and benches near what appear to be farm or rural buildings. In addition to the angles and contrasts, it is an inviting scene. Very sharp for an old inexpensive lens, and very nicely printed. Only minor postal scrapes.

Hi Daniela, I took my time and went back on a weekend. I have tried taking the camera on the commute but always found the pull of beating the traffic winning over stopping to take the photograph. All the best, Todd

“Patriarchs” from Michael Howard: The trees on top of the centre patriarch give a real sense of scale.

"Angles and other shapes" from Todd Barlow is very inviting. Looks like a nice place to have lunch, read, the go wondering with a camera.
The "postcard" from from krnow is just exquisite! Cyanotype is my favorite alternate process, and this print is magical. This image is simple, but effective. The Prussian Blue is intense. Most intriguing to me is the paper used. Where did you get a supply of this paper? did you get it as "roll stock" or sheets? Even provided instruction on how to flatten the paper. Very well done.

Hi Darwin, the paper is Japanese Kozuke paper which I buy in 60 metre rolls from a specialist shop in London - its advertised use is for Japanese Art & Conservation. Considering it is only 45 gsm it is remarkably strong and the prints able to withstand being developed in water. I do sometimes use similar paper weighing in at 65 gsm but prefer the more delicate nature of the lighter paper. To achieve the soft crinkly effect I simply just repeatedly screw up and unroll the (dry) print.
