The circular stamp with the orange flower is popular. I think it's been on most cards I've received from the States for the past year.
There aren't many options for USPS International letter-rate stamps...
(International postcard rate is the same as letter-rate).

I just managed to find the RED version of the orange flower one, so that's something haha

Just got Ilya's very nice "View From the Hill". I love the texture of the photo. I also got James O'Gara's copy, as the two envelopes were stuck together by some sticky substance. I'll send it along to ya as soon as I can stop by a post office.

Received a very nice print in an envelope from @mfohl - "Harding memorial". It's an excellent, classical-looking image (actually looks a bit surreal, somehow). Thanks!

To date I have received four wonderful postcards to add to the board I have hanging in my darkroom:
Ansel Mortensen....like others I'm looking for the swimming pool.
mfohl "Harding Memorial" I love photographs with winter trees and low light.
DRPSILVER "Cloud Drama".... well lots of drama and beautiful tones in this photograph.
Mattis "Winter" rare in the Ruhr District and probably even more rare where I live on the coast, I always appreciate winter scenes.
I have posted six postcards this morning.

Mr. Zeus @ Sunset just arrived in my mailbox this morning! Mr. Zeus looks like royalty. šŸ™‚ Thank you @mshchem !

Just received @Simon I 's beautiful lith print, with a very timely sports/Olympics theme. I love how textured the whole image is with all that detailed structure and paved street. Gracias, Simon!

I'm starting to get worried about the postcards I sent two weeks ago...no news so far...šŸ¤”

Hello @Simon I ! I also received your wonderful work. Never worked with that medium but reminds me of sepia toned prints. That, I did do once. Hope I someday get to experiment with other mediums that I have never used before.

I received @Simon I. Beautiful lith print. The color is great, almost peach.
Also received a great waterfall landscape from @ARS Thanks Adam, great work, detail is amazing.

Yesterday I received great lith print made by @Simon I - The print looks amazing. I enjoyed every inch of the square print - the steel structure, the bicycle, the cobbled surface, the ceiling structure, as the lith added a fascinating texture to the image. I would like to know more about printing - home or off-the-shelf lith developer? How long did the image have to be in the developer before it was possible to create such an image... If the author would share his experience, I would be glad. I have never tried this technique and this print is very inspiring.

Just placed my postcards in the mail. I had such a good time doing this. I wiil surely do it again.
Best regards to you all.

hello all,

I received many wonderful cards this rounds, but for a few circumstances I have had to take a pause in all things related to the hobby.
I will comment them in the coming days - and I should also take advantage of the Easter break to finally get round printing mines, sorry for the delay!

No worries!!!

I received three nice cards/prints. I've been out of town for several days, so they sat there gracing my table.

First is Daniela's "Peace!". It's a guy (I think) holding a very large sign on his shoulders. The sign is blank on the viewer's side, so who knows, it just might say "buzz off" or something . But it's a very cool shot, a different approach to your typical protest photo. Very nicely exposed and printed too.

Next is ARS's fine landscape "Indian Mound Reserve". It's a small waterfall surrounded by lots of woods. A lot of the foliage is really lit up, at first I thought it was IR film. Nice silky water tones, even visible in the distance. This Bronica shot really needs to be enlarged, there is a lot of detail.

And third is the mystery shot. A rather frightening portrait of a fierce warrior from a long time ago. Or maybe he's just a soccer fan. Long beard, painted face, appears to be holding a spear and a shield. Good presentation here. I say mystery because it came with no text. Nothing on the back of the print, no card or letter inside. I know it's from England because Charles' picture is on the stamp. But all that doesn't detract from the image.

Three vastly different genres of images, all very well done. Thanks Danlela, Adam, and ???

Cheers,

-- Mark

Thanks!
The sign was blank on both sides (you can see the front here). It was folded in half, so there might have been a message inside, but I didn't see it. It was large indeed and he carried it non-stop for a good 1 1/2 hours.

Hello Daniela,
These comments on your postcard left me intrigued so I went through your images to try to find it and I have to say I love your work.
I saw there was a phrase on the link that you shared that said "The march was organised by Belgian actress Lubna Azabal, as a silent walk with no slogans and no placards, just a single white banner. " So, I'm guessing probably there really was no message as that seemed to be the point. And it's a great picture by the way.

Obrigada, Monica!

OK, now I understand. A silent sign.
Yes, that was the biggest one. There were also lots of people carrying little white flags too.

-- Mark. the mystery shot is mine. Apologies from me and how I managed to send it off without details is a mystery to me. The print is called 'Pictish Man". He looks like a pict from ancient Scotland, when Scotland was known as Pictland. Taken with a Bronica ETRC 40mm lens and FP4 I think. Printed on Ilford MGFB 5x7 glossy.

Thanks Stefan. I can relate to that!

And today I received krnow's "French Beer Bottles". They appear to be *very* old beer bottles, but they make a nice still life arrangement. A very nice cyanotype on Kozuke paper, toned with boiled eucalyptus bark. And I'll bet that boiled eucalyptus bark can give you a nice buzz! Thanks Graham.

Received a highly-detailed nice little landscape with a small waterfall from @ARS today. A fair-sized chunk was removed from the emulsion in the centre of the card - seeing that a lot, actually. Whatever machine they use to sort cards in the States likes to chew into the centre of the card. Nevertheless, the scene is wonderfully rendered. It's a very nice print. Thanks!
