I received my first card today, "Reflecting" from BHuij. A very nice water study. Dark rocks in the foreground, looks like two levels of reflections, one smooth and one rippling, and a coupla nice dark tree trunks in the background. Thanks Andrew!

Also, all my postcards went out today.

I received same card beautifully done. I need to get into the darkroom this afternoon. Nice fiberbase full tone print 👍

This will be my first printing in my newly remodeled darkroom. I just came up. Everything is ready to go, fresh Bromophen, Ilford non-smelly stop bath, Kodak rapid fixer no hardener. Negative is in enlarger, focused, composed and locked down.

Supposed to get snow on Thursday so that's when I will start in earnest.

One real benefit of living in Iowa, I can afford to have a room dedicated for a lovely darkroom!

I'm off to stock up before the snow hits. 😁

Oh good, I was getting worried that the stack of 3.5x5 postcards I threw in the public mail dropoff box had gotten lost because they were too small or something. It's a relief to hear they arrived okay, at least stateside. I'll be curious to find out whether the ones going international run into any trouble. At any rate, I got set up with a 4x6 easel for next round. I think I like the slightly larger size better.

I actually like the 3.5x5 size better but am using my 4x6 Ilford paper until it's gone. I have maybe 40 of the smaller size - fibre-based and I think they're 50 or so years old - that I will use one of these rounds.

I have my cards printed (did that almost three weeks ago) but haven't labelled them (or sent them, obviously).

Yeah I'm just cutting down 8x10 sheets to 4x6. I can get three of them from an 8x10 with minimal waste; just test strip material :D If Ilford offered their postcard paper again I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

You can buy Ilford Portfolio rc in 4x6 as a special order item - that's all their postcard paper is. Pretty much everyone puts printed stickers on the back so it's not like anyone needs the blank address lines or the little rectangle for where you put the stamp.

In case you didn't realize it, the USPS has a really favourable postcard rate for 4"x6" postcards mailed to US addresses - just 48 cents each.

It’s a shame that Ilford don’t offer the Portfolio paper in A4 size as that would give 4 A6 size cards with zero waste. I see that they do the standard Multigrade RC in A4 but not the thicker Portfolio.

Correction Kodak dbl wt Kodabromide fiber base post card paper was nominally 3 1/2 × 5 7/16 inches. Still easy to split up 11x14 into 8 equal cards.

I think I have a few sheets of the old Kodak postcard paper, the Kodabromide, not the Azo. Perhaps I'll finish out my stock of that next round..

Just received @BHuij 's card here in the UK. The card survived the trip exceptionally well -- a really nicely composed and printed shot of some reflections in water.

Thank you!

Cards go out tomorrow, received one so far, thanks Mr. Fohl, very nice. I do want to leave a note to those who may try to print the "postcard" format on the back of the Ilford Porfolio 4x6 RC paper. Make sure you set to black ink only, and print it thin. Default print mode, at least on my printer, resulted in some extra "soaking", but the letters were still readable. Once I switched about mid way through, they came out crisp and nice.

This was fun, I enjoyed it, and can't wait to see the rest of the photos!

I just got @mikeg "Callanish II". It's quite a stunning pic from the Hebrides - I won't say much else not to spoil it for the others in the exchange. I like the crispiness, the composition... it was a pleasure to kick off PCX58 with it.

Meanwhile I finished printing mines yesterday night and should be sending them before the week ends.

Received @Don Heisz 's card yesterday. Thank you very much for the lovely card. My wife is a keen gardener and would love one or more of those greenhouses!

Thanks to @koraks and @negativefunk for the kind comments on my card -- I'm glad you liked it.

Being a huge fan of ancient ruins/structures I too really like the pic from @mikeg
Darn it, now I'm going to have to get back to the Isles. We have very few such structures here in the States.

Received an excellent print from mfohl yesterday - very impressed with print quality and paper used. Actually according to USPS it should have been delivered last Friday but the postman apparently put it in the wrong mailbox. One from Don Heisz is scheduled to be delivered today. I will start printing mine tonight and should have them in the mail by Monday.
