Thank you Mark, Mike, and Michael for your comments. I am glad that you like the image I used. The photo is indeed leaves caught in several spider webs. And, I wish I possessed 1% of what Beethoven had, if that! The card is not a contact print, but a very small enlargement. Using a 4-bladed easel makes uniform margins daily easy.
A lot of very nice cards have landed in my mailbox. My comments in no particular order.
"Gas Pipes" from distributed is a very nice illustration of how new and old have been mixed.
The card from bedrof is nice lith print from a very old town. The sepia/brown tone really add to the image. Well done.
A photo of the "Gowanis Canal Brooklyn, NY" from Howard Earl another example of how old meets new - canals carried the containers of the 1800's.
A very interesting image from Don Heisz of a maple seed. Initially I had no idea what it was, maybe a shell on a table, ....
"Morning east bound train, Cajon Pass" from mike c initially looked like sky and foreground with nothing much else. Until one looks closer, than the detail appear. The sepia tone really adds to the feeling of the photo.
I like the card from mfohl "Another Squiggle". I am always fascinated by how light and showdown play with non-planer surfaces.
"Winter Continues" from Matt King reminds me of some marshland near the SF Bay. The sepia tone is very subtle, but softens the contrasty parts of the image.
My favorite so far this round is the card from hkbeji. Nicely photographed and printed. Your perspective makes it look like Taoyuan City is dealing being attacked. Very well done.
Regards,
Darwin
