@bedrof's postcard of two men taking a break and having a conversation in the middle of the Grand Bazar in Istanbul Turkey, just fell onto my doormat. The high contrast scene makes me wonder if this is an open air market, this was at least in open shade of a very sunny day.
Thanks Ilya for sharing your work in this way.

Regards,
Bill (BSP)

Oxleyyroad's card full of moss and clover, a very pretty place for sure. Never been there, but from looking at this card I would like to go there.

I received my two first cards this while, while I was having fun in Marseille:

one I assume coming from mfohl showing downtown Columbus, with a very nice perspective leading to the building, and two men making it alive.
one from BSP, in which I cannot say anything is alive! Nice image though, but this "mort dans la rue" looks really dead, I fell sorry for this dude.

My cards will be delayed this round because the sump pump for the darkroom "in not being very cooperative". It looks like a intermitently sticking float switch. I have an appointment with a plumber to look at it, as well as other things around the house. I will work through tis problem by selecting possible images to use for my postcard.

Regards,
Darwin

Another postcard arrived this morning. Even our postman noted that I am back in the black and white postcard deal and he personally handed over the card. It was from RSImages and a stunning shot of a flower. Pretty damn fine for a test shot.

Sorry it isn't printed in a darkroom. I develop at home and have everything needed to print other than a counter to set up on. So I had to have them printed elsewhere. Glad you liked it and even more glad the camera was a good buy.

I've received 2 postcards. 1 from oxleyroad taken in California and the other a church window in eastern Germany from mfohl. Some of my friends know that I joined in on this and they keep asking about the cards I've received. This is going to be a great tool to challenge me to try my hand at enlarging and to force me to get out and shoot more this year.

RSI's print of a close up of a flower, did not know a Mamiya C330 could focus that close.

Had a great session in a photo club darkroom with a couple of friends yesterday. All cards printed, quite some work but also a great fun. Everybody was quite interested in the idea of the poscard exchange round.

When I came back home
oxleyroads card showing moss and clover waited for me in the postbox. Unfortunately a corner of the card was ripped off.

At the moment I prepare the labels for my cards. Looking forward to send them by the end of the week.

I've read the minimum focusing distance is about 12 inches with the 80mm lens. This is a slight composition crop, but mostly cropped a formatting crop to fill the card.

Well, my copy has also arrived, getting off with just a little bit of 'franking ink' on the border of the picture. As mentioned, a lovely close up of some moss and other assorted plants.

I also received RSI's flower: very nice! I am a long time user of Mamiya TLRs, and I love 'em! Close focusing is definitely possible with the long bellows, although I don't normally take advantage of that.. RSI's depth of field, or lack thereof, is also nice, considering there is no way to check. Also, he seems to have handled the parallax issue very well. Nicely done!

I don‘t know the English word - in German it‘s called Büttenschnitt. A Dahle 507/960 can produce a cut similar to Büttenschnitt, I have a postcard size vintage Flosto brand cutter. Search for Flosto on ebay, that will bring you some results

Looks like great paper. Do we call those "scalloped" edges in English? I tried Bing translator, and it doesn't translate Buetten into English, and the word for "scalloped" is different.

Thank you MattiS for the keyword!
I've got one old Soviet cutter of this sort but never used it, so I'm not sure if the edge is sharp and clean.
Have to check it though. Might look interesting with home-coated paper emulsion.

I received two cards today (as well as a hood for my ElmarS :D):

RSImages' flower, nice view of a somewhat tired flower, with shallow DOF and great details.
Oxleyroad's Moss which makes me want to see this forest!

Thanks
Laurent

All of my postcards have just been posted and will try to reach you swiftly and safely.
Reading through the threads, it seems that Bill / BSP, has sent a variety of different postcard images out.

I have received one of Bill's images of a guitar player that he likes, called Vinnie Moore (I had to look him up too!)

It's an image of the man playing live on his guitar, and the image was taken on a Leica M2 with a 50mm lens, so Bill must have been quite close to the performer himself.

A good range of tones and a well caught expression of concentration on the main mans face.

It's been a bit marked whilst in the postal system, but at the bottom of the image, so the mans face is clear, which is the main part of the image.

Many thanks bill / BSP.

Oxleyroad's Moss arived this weekend. I like the dark tones of the moss and the ferns. They are even more emphasiszed by the white border.

Contemplating moss after too much Thanks Giving food (and drink?) and recording the moment for posterity with a Leica IIIf.

The Zen of Postcards by @Oxleyroad

Nice one!

Your card arrived in almost perfect condition (most of mine seem to get banged-up quite a bit during transit) apart from the postmark which was stamped on the image side leaving the postage stamp unmarked.

A number of lovely post cards have recently made their way through my letter box. And what great images they are.

BSP - I really like this one. The tops of the tracks really pop and the composition is excellent.

RSImages - The grit of HP5+ works well with this image. I notice an almost purple cast to the image which is refreshing.

Oxleyroad - The aspect ratio really adds to the image. I really enjoy pouring over all the different elements of the image.

You all have inspired me to try something different for my latest batch of images, as well as giving me plenty of food for thought for future efforts.

It is interesting to see how the various postal services condition each post card. I'd be interested to hear your comments on the condition of my cards once they reach you.
