Thanks everyone for your comments!

I've gotten ten cards so far -- but being 5 weeks into an exchange with over 50 participants...well, that seems a little low, a little slower than usual. Maybe it's just me -- it's disappointing when there are no new cards in the mail.

Tell me about it.. I sent out 15 and have gotten 3.

Since I am watching a Monty Python Documentary.. all I can say is...

GET ON WITH IT!

The rest of mine go out tomorrow, Rudy. That's all of'em.

Rachelle your card arrived yesterday - great memories for me from my visit to Kyoto last year. (How did you manage to get the shot with nobody present??) Pity it was for business and not pleasure - no film cameras to be seen in my stable.

I'm looking forward to returning again though - film in hand and no d****** to be seen!!

Thanks Nanette.

I'm not sure which card I sent you (I did three different cards this round) but I think it was Kinkakuji. Most of my shots there were the result of waiting for the waves of people to pass through, and claim good spots when I could. The most disappointing thing for me for that trip is that I brought six rolls of precious HIE to shoot in Japan, and all but that first roll ended up pretty fogged. Interesting, considering that roll was changed in broad daylight (shaded of course), and the others were changed properly in a changing bag in dim light. (!?!)

OK, I must admit I am one of those slackers who haven't printed and sent cards yet.......Hopefully this weekend I can get some time in the little black box I call a darkroom!

But, that doesn't mean my Mail box has been empty:

DRPSilver - Barn, Curry Lane - Reminds me of a favourite location of mine. Shame I can't get close enough to get some nice images, as they have fenced it off
Polyglot - Lesmurdie Falls - William, you keep taking pictures like that, I might just have to think about a 67. Love the nearly surreal feel of the mist and the good detail of the middle rocks
omu(?) - La Maccina - Always a bit of a sucker for a nice set of wheels!
mooseontheloose - Kinkakuji - Very nice. When I get just a bit more proficient at what I do, I seriously want to give that kind of work a try

So 4 out of 20 thus far. Now its time to pull ones digit out and have a look at those negs!

My cards have now all been mailed. The ones sent to addresses in the USA were mailed from Washington State yesterday, and I mailed the rest locally today.

Some may be amazed - no rocks or water in this subject, and you can barely see the trees .

This week brought 4 more cards. The card from Paul_c took me by surprise. An ancient and not very attractive stone face. I guess that is what demons were designed to do - scare spirits away. Rtbadman sent a card that reminded me of the days I lived in Kansas - farmed and flat. I like how you contrasted the sky and fields. Nicely done! When I found Allen Friday's card in my mail box I said to my self "This is not in Iowa!". Nice story on how this castle came to be in Ireland. (Since I did not send Allen a card in R18, this may be a R17 card.) The card from mooseontheloose from Japan is magical. Rachelle, your HIE images are always a joy to receive and view.

Thanks to all for another week of mailbox joy and surprises.

Regards,
Darwin

Matt -- I'll give you the former, but not the latter.

Nice angle of view on the overpass -- I like the lines leading in and out of the photograph.

Allen Firday,Allen this photograph is as interesting as the story of the Pirate Queen, the castle is strong and and well placed in the foregroud with the very nice trees in the background,to bad Richard Burke lost her and the Castle in one day.(after a year of course).

rtbatman's Navajo Reservation came also while I was gone.Great isolation in a wide endless expanse of flat desolate land, and a well not over done sky adds to the realism of this beatiful scene, its a great one Roger

I got Matt and Roger's cards yesterday.

Roger, great portayal of your subject. Simple and powerful. Reminds me of how I felt when I first saw Mailbox 173.

Matt, kinda uncharacteristic is right. As mentioned above, I like the lines coming itno and out of the photograph. Don't miss the trees, either.

Both well-printed.

This week I got mooseontheloose's fantastic Golden Pavilion image in HIE. You've inspired me to finally go out and shoot my test roll of SFX+R72, HIE being made of unobtainium these days (I refuse to pay $90 for a single roll of 135!). It's drying now and hopefully I'll go shoot some nice(r) subjects this week as we have endless sunshine forecast.

Also received Mike Wilde's Chicago shot - love the straightness of it all and the cleanliness from that big negative. Sadly it has a big stamp on the front and a gouge out of the emulsion. Paul_C's gargoyle turned up - that's one ugly bit of stonework!

That's 11 arrived so far.

Just realized I sent two identical postcards to the same address in Montana. Just might have to fire up the old enlarger and do something about that.

MattKing's card landed in my mailbox this week. I really like how the overpass draws the viewer into the photograph. Well done.

I received a great image from Roger (rtbadman). It makes me draming, the Navajo reservation is one of the places I hope to visit one day, and there is a real sense of immensity there.
