I've received many great cards so far this round:

Anikin's "Colors and Forms" is a beautiful study in just that -- I never get tired at looking this image -- there's so much to see. Another colour photo from Ozphoto: "TV Tower, Berlin" is reminiscent of the many reflections of the CN Tower I would see when living in Toronto. I've never been to Berlin but would love to go there someday!

I also received a couple more cards featuring tall buildings from piu58 and JimO, as well as Wayne Frederick's Spring Point Lighthouse.

Mike Wilde's hat-trick of cards. All interesting shots on old paper. Call me crazy, but I really like the time-lapse photo -- I think there are a lot of fun possibilities there.

A few people cards have arrived as well: Jenni's very serene-looking "Madonna", Christopher Coy's more mellow "Music in the Street", and Rudiger's vertigo-defying "Soccer Over Paris".

Some words of wisdom from drpsilver and kraker. Together I think that perhaps the way to happiness is to find yourself some knobs and knockers!

Two sets of legs arrived: MattKing's creepy spider legs and Michael Scherck's "Skin Tight". The former is unfortunately a scene I see a lot of in the summer here in Japan (although the spiders are a lot bigger!) and the latter is a style of clothing my curvy body could never wear!

BoxBrownie's "Floating Leaf" was a bit of a mystery at first -- I thought I was looking at some cosmic event initially! Peter Schrager's $3 parking is wishful thinking is most places I've lived. Finally, Jim17x's "Speedy" is a very timely card. I've just pulled out my Crown to start working on more still lifes, and this is a nice example of where to start.

Thanks everyone for the cards so far! That's 15/27, which seems about right at this point in the round. I know I'm usually one of the first ones out of the gate with cards, but this has been a crazy second semester at work -- this has been my first truly free weekend in over 2 months. In any event, my plan is to print the cards tonight and get them in the mail this week. Sorry for the delay everyone!

Us bluejeh's have not yet sent cards. We'll send by mid Dec. Thanks.

I only sent one card, but there will be another on the way within a week. Did not see the point sending two of the same caaddress the same address.

I meant to mention this earlier.

@MikeWilde
I really appreciate the feedback on the windmill. I'll work with your suggestions and see how I go. Thank you.

What a surprise, four cards in a week!

mjs, "Skin Tight". This makes up for the misguided anticipation I had when MattKing said his card was titled "Legs". That one was a lot scarier than I had thought; yours is much closer to what I had expected. Nice "everyday" flea market observation, nicely framed and printed.
Oxleyroad, Old New Windmill, lots of detail. Time to dust off the Darkroom Cookbook and have a go at some of the stuff in there.
JimO, Sykes building. Looks like a day with some very nice and sunny weather. The red filter really brings out he contrast between sky and clouds. The bridge, the detail in the foreground, the tree; yes, a complete picture. Very nice.
George Nova Scotia, Tree making its own space. That's what trees do, although not all succeed. Love the details in this, and the limited (but not too shallow) depth of field. Like the atmosphere that it conveys.

Thanks all, and some more to come, I'm sure. Always a treat.

How does one get in on the postcard exchange?

Just hang around. Next sign up starts January 1st. In the mean time there is some more info in the Intro & FAQ threads. (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Kraker's "K&K" arrived today in Bangkok; it would have made me smile as well! Great tones, that sum up Dublin in October really well.
Andy C's "Windmill" arrived as well - good ol' Aussie Post stuck a lovely white barcode strip along it - but it still works a treat. Nice catchlights on the blades.

Two cards arrived today ...

A photo from George Nova Scotia of a tree near Truro. Reminds me of the time I observed the "tidal bore" at a motel outside Truro. I like how you kept the detail in the tree branches while keeping the tones below Zone V. Nicely done.

I laughed heartily when I saw kraker's "Knobs & Knockers". I love it! It is nice to see some humor survives in this world. Unfortunately the Post Office "added a few white lines" to your photograph.

Regards,
Darwin

Darwin, personally, I think that's all "part of the game", receiving most of the postcards with some "signs of use". Although in some cases, it can be pretty bad. I do have a few spare prints; if you want, I can send you a new one in an envelope. Let me know.

Anyway; glad you (and others) like it; a common sense of humour reveals itself.

I had one come in last time that had been completely ripped in half. They taped it back up and put one of those "sorry we suck" stickers on it!!

Jacco, thank you for your kind offer. I agree that the adventures that postcards take on the way to their destinations "comes with the territory" of the exchange.

Darwin

I wouldn't panic just yet, it is that time of year that postal offices claim they are over-worked :whistling:

An update on cards received over the last few weeks:

Jim17x "Speedy" My speedy has never looked that good. Sadly it's been hiding in it's box without a lens for that last 30 years.
jimo "Beer Can" Interesting shot. Building design inspired by a few late night sessions?
BoxBrownie "Floating Leaf" Lovely play of shadow and light - once you figure out which way is up.
kraker "What's in a name?" Yes, great place to stumble upon and have a camera at the ready.
MJS "Skin Tight" Just a pair hanging around. Nicely seen.
Oxleyroad "Old New Windmill" Once a common sight in this part of the world as well.
Christopher Coy "Music in the Street" Dreadlocks and all.
and a mystery card "3 seats" from Austin TX, hmm trsvax is that you?

I think that leaves about 10 outstanding. Some we've heard from, others I'm sure are working hard.
