Rince, I received your card last night. Love the mushrooms! I always enjoy coming across the unexpected, and for me, mushrooms are one of those things you don't expect to see, but often can -- at least, that's what I've noticed in my somewhat new neck of the woods.

My cards are printed and about half are labelled and ready to go, just need a little more time to finish the rest. They should be in the mail today or tomorrow.

Again, I am way behind in my comments. I have received fine cards from 15 participants though:

afrank - “Sweet Child of Mine” - A beguiling glimpse of a young look at the world
anikin - “Chihuly’s ‘Bridge of Glass’” - Beautiful, swirling hand printed colour - much appreciated
BoxBrownie - “Floating Leaf” - Depending on the angle, it looks almost cosmic
ChristopherCoy - “Music in the Street” - An excellent print and a nice viewpoint
drpsilver - “Happiness is ... way of life” - A pithy phrase, and a beautiful print
George Nova Scotia - “Tree” - Very atmospheric - makes me think of hobbits
Jenni - “Annika” - A captivating portrait with an interesting choice of framing - subtly printed
kraker - “What’s in a name?” - I do appreciate a card that makes me smile
mjs - “Skin Tight” - An interesting “outlook”, and I like the print
Mike Wilde - “Birds at the Blue Water Bridge”, “After a Dip” & “Time Lapse Testing” - Three more interesting cards from Mike. The timelapse shots are intriguing, the young swimmer is “caught” in an interesting pose but the light on the birds and the water and the quality of the paper and the printing makes “Birds at the Blue Water Bridge” my favourite
Oxleyroad - “Old New Windmill” - A nice, cooler toned image
ozphoto - “TV Tower, Berlin, Germany” - The colour made me think of Agfachrome, and it is
piu58 - “Leibnitz” - A great juxtaposition - dark with light, human with artificial, old and new
rst - “Soccer over Paris” - Made me smile; and
photographer unknown - “Three Seats” - The photograph provides an interesting and evocative mystery, but it would be nice to know who the photographer is (my guess: trsvax ???)

I appreciate all the generous comments about my “Legs”. I hope I didn’t scare too many of you .

With cards from 15 in hand, I just have 9 to go.

Thanks all for participating!

Hi there,

I am way behind on commenting on the wonderful postcards I received so far. I will take some time during the holidays to go through my stack of postcards for this round and write some comments.

I want to say thank you for the kind comments on the card I sent. A special thanks goes to Mike who even gave me a short critique and something to think about.

Cheers
Ruediger

Received two cards last week:
rince, Life in the dark. Great detail, lovely shot. I had never heard of a close-up adapter for the Mamiya 7; you had me googling there. Interesting. Your observation is oh so true. Sometimes you miss the details, you have to pay attention to the smaller things. Thanks!
unknown (likely to be trsvax as others have previously commented), three seats. Thought-provoking, I want to know more. Love the textures, especially the leather on the chairs. A nice print.

A photograph of a family of fungi arrived in my mail box from rince. Very nice composition. Sharp and good contrast. Almost like being there in the forest. Thank you for your thoughts on winter and changing seasons.

I have been quiet on the responses. I apologise. Will respond on all of the post cards I have been lucky enough to receive to date by the end of this week.

"Tinsel & Stars" from mooseontheloose arrived today. I also like the Christmas theme. Your use of convergent lines and soft-focus background is very effective at keeping the viewer interested in the image. Thank you for the postcard and your very kind words.

mooseonthelose's card arrived today - just 4 days before Christmas!

I love the fact the stamp on the back matches the image on the front - 2 trees for the price of one! A nice abstract vision of an everyday(year) occurrence. Some nice tight grain from the Delta 3200 - might need to try some of that out for myself!!!

Thanks everyone for the comments so far!

What amazes me about this roll is that I decided to start shooting 3200 film outside in the snow! Grant it, I was just getting into black and white photography, but I have no idea what I was thinking. The indoor shots were hit and miss though -- the interiors of the houses are really quite dim and I got very few usable shots (the tinsel and stars is just one of them). What really gets me though is how nice the grain is on this film -- it was lab processed, so I have no idea what was done to it, I just know that I cannot get those kinds of results with that film by myself.

Anyway, glad the cards are getting through the Christmas rush!

Just went through the "Naughty or Nice" list. Seems we are about 8 short so far, half have checked in to let us know what's happening. It would be nice to hear from the last four. Just too let us know you are okay.

Seasons Greetings,

I must admit that I am on the naughty list at the mo, so it looks like a lump of coal for me for Christmas (or, apparently, if they run out, you get an iPhone, which is a bugga. At least you can burn the coal.).

Anyhow, I have not forgotten, but my cards will be sent in the new year. I printed half of them last night, but with Christmas festivities coming up ( and a camping trip as well), I can't see me printing the remainder until the weekend of the 5th (unless I print tonight).

Sorry for the holdup.

Thanks for the update Hoffy, I'll take you off the off the "really naughty list" for now. You'll be on the list with Kav (busy fixing NY) and the Bluejahs who have also checked in, but still have to make it to the post office.

If my notes are right we still have to hear from Black Dog, Kc2edh, and lorifrommontana. Anybody heard from them?

Mine are done. I've been getting bounced across the US like its going out of style. But I did bring mine with me on my current trip and hope to have them get addressed and sent in the next few days.

Great news, Kav. I think you are safely on the "nice list".

The Bluejehs have had a few very important things get in the way, but I have a sneaking suspicion that we will see cards from them soon, because there were a couple of test strips hanging in their darkroom the last time I was there that I probably wasn't supposed to see :whistling:.

Hey all! I have not dropped off of the face of the earth! I will get my postcards out this weekend. Been busy with getting my life ready for grad school. Reading a lot! It was very nice to get some needed time in the dark room though!
Also I have so enjoyed everyones postcards!
