Many critters prefer not being "stared at". And will "turn away". Preditors often will stare at their intended "meal". Do you "stare" at a bird or other animal before taking a picture? Maybe that is the problem. If you have a dog, try staring, looking the animal "straight in the eye". I'll bet it will turn away, or maybe growl and show its teeth. Try it sometime.........Regards!I find that birds and animals do not like to help by let me photograph their eyes. They will do anything to look the other way.
