Great piece of engineering, how long does it take to open?
It takes 3-4 minutes to open - bridge usually stays open for about 15 minutes to let all the vessels go by. It's a busy waterway.

All the crossing diagonals, with the main ones leading deep into the crountryside, would have made W. Eugene Smith proud.
