Hi Guys, I have nothing to post here but just wanted to mention I joined the forums based on seeing this thread. You guys are beyond awesome. I have never seen so much beautiful art in one place. Very inspiring, and very humbling.

I'm not sure if it was already mentioned in this thread but If you like the Holga, check out Michael Ackermans work!

Thank you! Is he a poster here?

This is the first time I looked into the Holga. I read about it a while back and it didn't seem very interesting- plastic lens, blah blah blah. Boy oh boy, does this thread ever change that!

The photos the guys are posting here are mind-blowing!

I don't think he posts here, he's a well known art photographer but he just produced a book that was exclusively shot with the Holga

Beautiful work, Jim, as always! Very painterly.

Because of you guys I bought a couple of Holgas. I loaded some film over the weekend and was ready to start trying my luck. Then I heard something rattling loose inside the camera. I thought to myself huh, this is gonna be even harder than I thought.

I don't know whether to just try to shoot up the roll and hope for the best or wait until night and try to take out the film in the bathroom. Between film and development costs it's about 15 bucks a roll.

Thankyou. Mine makes that rattling noise also. I think it is the take up spool rattling around a bit. It is louder when there is no film in the camera. Most of the rattle goes away with loaded film. You should be good to go. Just part of the Holga. Good luck.

This is a really sick sound like some major piece of plastic broke off. I tried the shutter a few times with the lens cap on and that sounds ok. So, I'll shoot the roll and let the plastic pieces fall where they may :D

Thanks.
