Was asked to take some publicity shots for a musician. Rock and roll. Kid is so sweet I couldn't get anything that looked remotely rock and roll out of him at first. Always had a goofy, uncomfortable look.
Just to see what I could get I got them in a no-light situation, busking. Nothing but a street light for the main and lit sign for a coffee shop as the fill. I think, not realizing I was there, he was more relaxed.
People aren't my forte. So it's fun for me to try stuff like this.

Portraits take a special talent. I rarely take portraits of people I know and I get good portraits, but I am not skilled in portraiture. On a few can draw people out. You found a way that night.
Friends had a baby this year. I know it was cliche, but I took some pictures when they asked.
They want color, but I like black and white, so I'll share one here. Lighting there was terrible flourescent bulbs, so wonky catchlights and a bit of a challenge.
Also, if you tease Santa and get him to laugh for real it's way better than when he's doing the fakey Ho Ho Ho laugh. The dude playing Santa was fantastic with the children, a real pro at a job harder than it looks.
