If memory serves me, this was expired fuji xtra 400 and my leica cl with canon serenar 50/1.8. Near Townsend, TN a decade ago.

Yeah. The Mishamokwa trail is another location where I've gotten to see that phenomenon, when I used to backpack that as a teenager. I have got to get back in good enough shape to do it again, I'm ten-ply these days.

The initial 3000ft elevation climb in the first mile was rough on a pudgy teenager back then, it'll be *really* rough on a fat middle aged guy carrying a 4x5 these days!
