Interesting image, is this sculpture enlightened artificially, or is it the setting sun?

The image was shot at dusk facing west. The illumination on the sculpture is from display lighting. This is just one of a number of sculptures placed around a small house on the outskirts of the ghost town of Rhyolite.

A couple of early morning landscapes. This tree grows on an island at Eagle Marsh, a restored wetland complex on the western edge of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Until the late 19th Century, when it was drained for farmland, a huge swamp stretched from Fort Wayne to Huntington. The two square mile acre Eagle Marsh was created in 2005, but it covers just a tiny fraction of the original swamp.

Stephen, very nice work as always.

Chris, love the contrast of the 2 images a month a part. I often visit the same scene over and over to see how things change.

Stephen, this is lovely. How did you hold so much detail and tonality in the clouds?

Thank you.

From a technical perspective, the film can reproduce the range. From a creative perspective, clouds tend to work a lot like snow or fog. How to print them depends on the image. You just keep working it until it feels right; however, I have found that point to be generally darker than I originally expected.
