Average in Canada (not your place, all of, it's a big place) is $6.75.

All I can say is, gasoline is NOT cheap right now!

That said, Mono lake is worth the drive. It's one of the weirdest, coolest places I've seen.

Just looked at a gas tracking website, average San Francisco for regular is $6.63.

Average in Canada (not your place, all of, it's a big place) is $6.75.

All I can say is, gasoline is NOT cheap right now!

That said, Mono lake is worth the drive. It's one of the weirdest, coolest places I've seen.

Petrol Super 95 (E10): € 2,15 = $ 2,26
Petrol Super 98 (E5): € 2,39 = $ 2,51

It's brutal I know. I've been setting the cruise control on 55 for long trips and it really helps with gas consumption. I've never been to California and would love to visit a few places - yosemite, etc.

Do you have any other suggestions besides mono lake?

Hey Paul,

Yosemite and the sequoias are in direct line on the way to Mono. You can go over Tioga Pass. Near Mono is the ghost town of Bodie. Mammoth Mountain is about 30 miles south of Mono, but it probably doesn't compare with the mountains you've been to. Bristle Cone Pines are a little south of Bishop. South of San Francisco is Big Sur and Point Lobos. It's easy to drive by the best parts of Big Sur if you don't know where they are. The galleries in Carmel are a must see. It's like being immersed into the world of west coast photography (bring some images to show).

Sorry the list isn't any better than the average tourist guide. I live in Los Angeles and haven't focused on that area for some time. I'm sure others can offer better suggestions.
