However, a new Polaroid can't really get away with this business model of charging whatever they feel like because Fuji IS making comparable products. I am more inclined to go with Polaroid than knock-offs from Fuji if the prices are in the ball-park, but what I've read here indicate there's something like a 60% or greater increase in price over what Fuji already offers.

Artists don't have any money except the ones who were born into wealth (and few of us were!). So this is a dead deal if the prices are silly.

Prices at this point are sheer speculation. Nobody knows.

In a report on Impossible it was stated that the price of a pack of ten should be around 25€, followed by that quotation from Impossible I posted above.

Did the dollar fall that deep??

I looked it up, it's 1.27$ per € today. Though, nobody knows what the exchange rates will be when that film will be out...

It was almost $2 to the Euro a while back. If it is $1.27 now then the film is still vastly overpriced. Walmart still sells Polaroid 600 for $14.99 for a 10 pack.

News or hype, or a bit of both? The Dead Link Removed now shows "ENTERING PHASE II".

Who knows? They have passed phase 1 of their project, or they want us to believe so?

I guess the website will be updated within a few days. My guess is that it is at least partly a marketing trick, instead of updating the website immediately, they give us some time to start rumours: "Ohh, they have finished phase 1! What could that mean?" etc. etc.

I hope there is some real news too. Wait and see.
