Photoshop Elements vs. Apple Photos

Would Photoshop Elements be an upgrade from Apple Photos? Responses from those who have used both, please.

Speaking as a longtime PE user, you might want to look at Affinity Photo. It is built with the same structure and keyboard shortcuts as PhotoShop, but may be purchased for a modest sum. I moved from PE to Affinity a few years ago and have been happy with the upgrade.

What Photos is not doing for you? It only sounds like for some reason you are not satisfied with Photos and are looking for another editor, but to do what?

I'm looking for something to bridge the gap between Photos and Lightroom/Photoshop. I am primarily a film photographer who shoots digital whenever convenience or airport security intervenes.
