Hi,
I love to shoot medium format, but since I've been in Hawaii I temporarily gave up film for digital. It's hard to get the right supplies on the island. I am taking a trip across America this September and have decided that I want to shoot the whole journey on film. I'm moving back to the mainland and decided that this was the right time to see what I've always wanted to see across the country. When I arrive in North Carolina I plan on starting up my own darkroom, and printing the images from my trip. I've decided that this is the direction I want to go in my life. I'm going to devote my craft to learning new classic photography techniques, and keeping them alive.
Photography is my passion! I've been shooting for a long time, and have never had as much fun as when I was in the darkroom. My favorite part of the photographic process is seeing the images that I've created come to life in front of my face. I have decided that I want to do this every day. I need to shoot film and be in the darkroom. I've missed it so much while I've been away. That's why I'm Dead Link Removed my new career path and looking for support from like minded photographers. I know that I want to get up every day and either take a hike and shoot the wonderful things in the world, and develop those images in my darkroom. I want to see what I've seen come to life, and I want other people to see it. I plan on opening a gallery space in Asheville, NC where I will set up a darkroom and showcase the works that I've created.
Come along with me on my journey and see how I see America! If you can, contribute to my project and spread the word about my work. I love the art of photography, and I respect how powerful an image can be. I want my work to resonate with people that understand photography as well as people that just see pictures. I want to capture people's imaginations and instill a sense of wonder back into the world. I encourage you to follow me on my website www.mywildamerica.com and I appreciate any words of wisdom.
Sincerely,
Christian Farner
